New Years Resolution

I've been thinking of cleaning house on my iPadAir1 after the 1st of the year; upgrading to AuriaPro, and downloading Gadget & Patterning.  Then, just focusing on those, my bass guitar and making some doggone nice productions.  Anyone else thinking likewise?

  • I did that once and regretted it cause I had to reload up other apps everyone was talking about but I still think its a good idea! It is the way of the "enlightened" individual. Its kind of a detox.
  • My new year's resolution will be the same as last year. Write, record and produce at least one song a month.
  • New curtains and maybe more flossing!

I am coming to understand that these curtains are of course a secret synonym for something altogether other of which I am not a member of the party for....
  • As for NY's Resos, I have already given up most of the things that tried to kill me, so along with trying to keep the slabs of fat off of my person and maybe going to Andalucia at some point to see a version of my future, I'll happily sign up for the write/record/produce chain gang.
  • Auria Pro getting it!
  • I'm doing that reduction at least ipad DAW-wise, got rid of everything except Auria Pro which will require a lot of attention (and attention-enhancing substances) to fully grasp.
  • I'm looking forward to buying Auria Pro by then as well. I might delete Cubasis and maybe a few other apps. I'm hoping to buy the 2nd generation iPad Pro next fall. The iPad Mini 2 is just too small for some Korg and Sugarbytes apps.
  • My New Year's resolution for 2015 was to record an album's worth of songs by year's end. It's Dec 3 and I've completed exactly one song, with most of my precious music-making time spent on fiddling around with the zillion or so apps I kept buying (and watching the occasional Haq Attack video).

So yeah, I need to change the ol' M.O. in 2016. The "app detox" route sounds tempting.

Of course Teddy didn't have no appaholia nor no iPad neither...
  • @RulesOfBlazon sounds like you should join the Song of the Month Club. You would have had your album done by now.

I also think that concentrating on a small handful of core apps is a good way to stay focused. There's certainly a lot of apps out there, the trick is to find the ones that inspire you to make music.

thanks...thanks my take on it as well.  :)

I get an albums worth or material, then stall.  THEN start all over with a fresh workflow.  Too many options.

the trick is to not be tempted by the hoopla surrounding all the awesome new apps.
