DrumJam live and on stage!

Hi folks,
For those of you looking for controllability of a drum app with your feet, i just wanted to report my results with Drumjam.
I took it to a show last Sunday and used it on a few songs.

the rig was my SoftStep in to my iPad mini and Drumjam.

I put together a few generic sounding user presets that went with a few of the songs I do. They weren't a perfect fit because
DrumJam tends toward the more tribal world music sound. There are, however, a few cajon patterns which are usable for a mostly straight 4/4 rhythm, a couple that offer a nice 6/8 or 12/8, and a couple that work with some syncopated styles.
Ofcourse the shaker has lots of useful 8th note and 16th note loops.
So, with a few user styles made, I also had a preset made for the SoftStep which triggered start/stop, fade, tap tempo, randomize loop, undo, and redo, and one to solo instrument number 1 in the loop.
i set up my loops so that the principal instrument, cajon, would be the first instrument. This way i could solo the cajon and then kick in the shakers and other instruments during choruses.

The idea worked well!

For some reason my pedals for randomize loop undo and redo didn't work, but that might have been an error in the SoftStep preset, and the tap tempo didn't work well, but I think that's because my SS has pedals with very inconsistent pressure sensitivity. (it's going back.)

Anyway, the bottom line is that DrumJam can serve as a pedal driven drum machine if you find or create some patterns which work for your songs.

Two drawbacks are that there are few patterns which work with vanilla rock or folk tunes. There are no swing beats at all.
Also, the midi bindings are fixed, and they are CC messages so many midi pedals won't control DJ.
My plan is to use MidiFlow or something to configure my next pedal to work with DJ.

I hope that Jesse will consider allowing either the importation of midi loops which could play the instruments in DJ, or maybe the creation of some more basic styles to use with boaringh old pop and rock songs. :)
I'd be happy with a "boom chuck, boom-boom, chuck" 4/4 style loop. :)
Or, I'd love to find a midi loop player which could play the DJ or other drum app instruments. An app which had a way to trigger different loops including fill loops a/b loops ETC. I really think that app would sell big since the Beatbuddy a $300 pedal sells well. :) OK, enough from me. :)
