Just had a play with the irig recorder app but I cannot figure a way to play along with backing track.
Have you tried it with Audiobus?
Thanks for that info. So all your recent videos were with the free version? Very cool, but now I'm curious – what's the earth-shaking, life-changing benefit one receives for coughing up the dough for the pro version of the iRig app?
@eustressor HQ audio export is the only thing that is appealing on the video side. A few other audio editing and stuff. Not much if any for video or it doesnt seem like it.
Good to know - thanks for sharing this, and all your recent 'Dabbler demos. Really enjoyed them
Thanks!! At Last!!
My first attempt with iRig Recorder Video and Audiobus:
Signal Route: Guitar > iRig Pro > iPadAir > PositiveGrid JamUpPro App (Input Audiobus 2) & iRig Recorder Video App (Output Audiobus 2).
That's great man! Hey do you have any issues with iRig working in the background? Sometimes I'll hit record for video then switch back to positive grid to get my backing track going but then the video stops recording when I switch over to the other app
Yes. Same with me. But I think its the way the iRig Recorder app works. First, you must put the other apps running, then activate the iRig Video recording.
So, if you want to play with some backing track in the background, I recommend you put to play the end of the previous track, so it gives you time to activate iRig Recorder and enter to play over the backing track you want.
Yeah I suspected as much... just wanted to make sure it wasn't just me! ;-)
Thx man. Rock on
Having issues with iRig recorder(output) and amplitude(input), using audiobus 3.
Crackling and static noise that totally ruins the audio.
As Riffstory posted above it works with audiobus 2.
I guess it has not been updated for audiobus 3 yet since this app was last updated in March but audiobus 3 was released in April.
Just a heads up to anyone considering to get this, wait till it's updated for AB3 unless of course you already have AB2.
FWIW I have the paid version, not the free one.
Can anyone suggest an alternative app to irig recorder?
This app can do it but it's a pain to work with...

Tried that one but couldnt get it to work with audiobus at all.
Irig recorder still seems the best but is such a pain to work with, wish there was a way to just send it to the native camera.
Anyone else found any new apps that can do this?
This one has the right idea but has a few bugs and looks like the developer has given up on it. But worth a play with:
Guitar Video Recording Editor - VD Jam by umut caliskan

Thanks for the heads up!
Unfortunately, the bugs seem to make this app unusable ... I can't believe no one has done this correctly yet!!!
Someday I guess.
