Best Music App of 2015 (Synthtopia Poll)

edited December 2015 in General App Discussion

It ain't over till the fat lady sings. iDS-10 didn't even make the cut but according to this poll; what do you think the best app of the year is?

Personally, I nominated Fugue Machine but it was a very difficult choice! I'd probably chose Patterning as a close 2nd and Studiomux in 3rd.

Comments

  • Plus one for Fugue Machine. Effortless loveliness....

  • I voted Auria Pro, even though I havent bought it yet. I'm not sure why Ableton Link is on the list. It's not even an app. It's just an extension which will be implemented.
  • I had to add "midiSteps" under "other". :(
  • They classify Link as an app? In that case I'm going to vote for IAA. In any case I can see link being big in 2016 rather than 2015.

i wonder how patterning will do in this chart.
  • Had to add AnalogKit under other...  :#
  • I added Funk Drummer to other...

    1: Auria Pro

    2: Patterning

    3: Funk Drummer

  • Yes patterning will no doubt do very well I believe, mainly because Auria will not get that many users in comparison given the price ,newness, and just how much love has been shown for patterning.  Just an observation.

I think you'd have to say that as regards breadth and length of general enthusiasm after release Patterning probably scores highest if you could dice the informal qualitative returns from this site...still haven't beaten it like a mule yet over here, I've got a thing about things that have reticence about their outs, but I feel it coming...

    Personal pleasure vote: Fugue.

My vote goes to Patterning but Fugue Machine deserves it too for sure. I also have a lot of fun with Diode and many other apps in the poll... and would be very happy if one day I manage to understand how IVCS3 works :)
  • Too bad iDS-10 is not on the list. That one, Patterning and Fieldscaper are my favorites 2015.
  • Waldorf Attack Drum
  • Patterning was a revelation for iOS drums. The quick update that added sample editing was awesome too.

    Fugue is also incredible.

My main app launch bar is : Samplr, patterning, fugue, gadget. Done.

These 4 apps give so much creative exploration. I really hope Samplr, patterning, & fugue get LINK support.

By the time the iPad pro 2 releases :)

  • 2015 ain't over yet!  Still hope for a few on the horizon, but AP, Fugue, and Patterning are all worthy to me.
  • Auria Pro. No-brainer here.
  • all time is simultaneous, don't limit your choices to what one specific jumble of particles presumes to consider a "year"

    Samesies.

  • Crazy that I've purchased the vast majority of all of these. But I do agree with Patterning and Fugue Machine at the top. The most innovative and usable applications of the year to me.
  • Surprised to see imaschine 2 way up there. Maybe I shouldn't be?

  • Given time for the 'hype' to settle down, I think the release of Auria Pro will be the most notable release, but still another year passes and no killer Sampler/Groovebox for iOS, it's been a good year for Klevgrand, with all of the releases they have given us. Overall the list is also interesting to see Windows apps appearing on the list too. My vote would have to go with Patterning though, a really cool release that utilises the strengths of our touch devices.
