Audio Editing
Hey guys, in Logic audio there is a feature called "Flex". I use it sometimes when my guitar track's timing is a bit off. Basically you can enable Flex and it puts points on the guitar track wave files. I can "nudge" points around and get them back on the beat.
Is there anything in the IOS world that can do that?
I'm not trying to speed up or slow down the track as a whole, just go in and nudge some stuff around to make the timing better.
Any ideas?

I wish!
The only thing I can think is that you could use something like Cubasis to split an audio recording into separate parts and then drag each one around. Not a very elegant solution, and you may end up with small gaps in the audio. Depends on how much time you have at your disposal!
Yuk. I'll just bring it back to Logic. I was trying to keep it all in IOS.
Auria does time stretch really well, but only on whole regions/audio files. But the dev is very very responsive when it comes to user requests, so maybe try requesting a "nudge" feature or time stretch only-selection feature or whatever you need. If it makes sense and can be implemented without cluttering the interface etc he will definitely hear ya. Unlike some other bigger companies...
Good suggestion. I'll ask that question under user requests. Thank you.
Practice more! It's pretty fast to do this by hand in Auria if you only need to fix a few flubs. Select, split, hold, drag.
I've been listening to a lot of Led Zeppelin lately and it's sort of incredible to hear all of the mistakes on those records. They're everywhere. Missed hits, totally flubbed notes... Still some of the best records ever made.
Yeah the select->split is actually well implemented and fast to use. And it's a non-destructive process (correct me if I'm wrong).
I'll give that a try in Auria. And... I'll practice more!!! LOL.

By far the fastest, simplest and least taxing on your iPad to just redo the take.
I have had a couple of years of being away from the guitar so I'm really rusty.
Also.. sometimes you capture the moment with just the right string buzz or slide, or intonation or any of a bunch of other things. They can't be replicated. That happened on one of my songs. I recorded the main part and it was pretty cool but had that one glitched note. About a year later Logic came out with Flex. I fixed that note and could finally listen to that song again. Nobody even noticed the off time note but it caused me to never listen again. I was really glad to fix that song.
But... you're right, I need to get my chops back up to speed.
I hear ya.... With all of the capabilities of digital audio, sometimes I am guilty of overlooking just staying up on my chops too.
I think I sort of got into that habit by playing keyboard more where everything was spot on. My timing used to be really great before that.
I was away of the guitar for many years..practise got me back on track.
By the way Sealpt is a great player, just have a listen to his SC.
Thank you Evangelos. If you guys want to hear some cool stuff then Evangelos has a ton of it for you on his SC.
(As we pat each other on the back) LOL
Haha Shawn
I am not sure that IOS have any option for it. Have a look to this, may be Videocaddy can help you out.
