So it looks like auxy has redefined their mission, again, stating it now as "to provide the best tools for mobile creators and make it possible to produce real music just using phones."

I hope this does not mean abandoning their iPad version?

  • So no Audiobus or IAA? Why?

Because they are positioning themselves as a mass market toy.

  • If they want the mass market, they can't charge for it.

I like to have something that's great sounding, simple and free of distractions to contrast the sometimes overwhelming choice of fully featured daws.

    Agreed.

    100%

I use TriqTraq and Xenon Groove for the occasional leisurely chill session of having fun.

  • they say it's better than the iPad version ...

  • I would just like to have a quiet ten minutes in The Hole with them and get an honest answer as to why they have so deliberately avoided/rejected the AB option. Makes no sense to me, at all, from a personal or commercial viewpoint....

  • I took the plunge, and have to admit that it's very fun, somewhat like figure, with a really nice fluid piano roll, good interface and good sounds, very easy to get a good performance going, it's a shame that it lacks audiobus and iaa or at least audiocopy, but on the good side I could easily export midi to Dropbox and open in Auria and start from there...

  • I have Auxy on the iPad, but honestly ? I find it much much more fun on the iPhone.
And the sounds are top notch!

  • Yeah, but it NEEDS to work with other apps (ie MIDI, AB, IAA, AudioShare, etc)

One of my personal heroes in the history of cinema (no, not Carl the Floorwalker :))....

  • There is audiocopy !, when you use the record fonction, there is a share option with Dropbox and audiocopy

Does it still have midi out like the iPad version?

    Good to know!!

    Yes, very important question!!

  • Nope, not that I see, only export midi

  • I like that you can jam with it, and if it's worth it you can export audio and midi to take it to the next level

  • Sounds like it just needs a couple of additional things to be a really great tool!

  • MIDI export only. Bummer, as I liked using Auxy on the iPad to control other stuff in realtime.

  • some differences between the iPad and the iPhone versions I noticed are:

bad - no velocity variation, no triplets, no narrow grid, no access to tempo and key change when recording, no midi out

good - the side-chaining can be set to kick, access to more tweaking knobs

    Exactly. Deal breaker.

    Add midi out... Instabuy.

why would they say something like 'its 10x better than the iPad app' that sounds like a snub and they smell like retronyms.
first they said buy our app, then they said it's not only for novices, we want to make the best professional app, then they said no no we just want to get music into the hands of the masses but still make it good for music makers as well, then they said it's just for the masses and having fun, then they stopped saying anything and now this...... 'it's 10 x better than the iPad app'......
smacks of not being genuine from the get go........ I hate it when good devs act like this.

Moral of the story... support the good devs who have integrity out there cause we are lucky to have them.

Did they really say that? Citation needed.
