Not really a rant, more like a wish—that the iPad could be an instrument safe to invest loads of time in. It’s so fun with great potential, but it feels a bit like quicksand. What will Apple come up with next that will break whatever it is I’ve been learning and practicing? Is this app going to work with what I want to do? Will it be around tomorrow? Will the timing, touch surface, etc. be responsive today, or kinda glitchy. Can I get the answers I need?
Maybe I'm just unlucky with the device I got? Maybe the future will change? Right now it’s not like instruments I grew up with. Learn to play the guitar, it’s always going to be a guitar.
A dedicated work space ( other than the sofa ) with monitors, apple's sandboxing of ios & those repetetive update snafu's - meaning re-working workaround's, which results in the waning of ones creative momentum. Other than that I am eternally grateful for the many wondrous audio apps & the amazing thing that iPad music creation is

I dunno, I guess I'm like most everyone else apparently. Got some issues, but for most the part, I have better gear now than I have had since I had an 8 track tape recording studio in the 70s. Actually, probably better than that. It's the shit.
Now, I also hate not being able to charge and use the Lightning port for other stuff.

And I REALLY hate all that weird synthesizery kind of stuff you guys all produce, because I CAN'T FIGURE IT OUT. Which is probably good. For everyone else.
It bothers me when developers release apps without doing any beta testing before they release an app or update and it ends up having significant bugs that could have been nipped in the bud before release. I just don't understand why they aren't more diligent after all the work they've put into their app.
Apple software ratcheting update policy, you can only go forward in version numbers and not back which doesn't always correspond to progress.
