FM Synthesis Basics and Signal Routing - haQ attaQ 108
FM Synthesis basics and Signal routing! In this episode I am trying to explain the very basics about how FM Synthesis works, and how to operate it. There will be another episode about coming later on. In which I will take you through some FM synthesis patch design. So stay tuned for that.
I am using FM4 by Primal Audio but the basics of FM Synthesis, applies to other FM synthesizers too. This is the first time that I’m using an oscilloscope for a tutorial I tried quite a few, but settled on Oscilloscope by ONYX Apps. I used a Behringer UCA-202 to get the audio from the iPad running the FM4, into the iPad running Oscilloscope.

Very nice presentation! Jacob, thank you!
But I really wish FM4 has it's internal oscilloscope, that can be a hide similar to Nave. The only thing I expecting from FM4. Wonderful app!
Oh, FM4 can be a good candidate to test those springs' sound on PSP PianoVerb2. Signals are very strong!
@Kaikoo Thank you!
You know DXi has a built in oscilloscope. It's small but it works. If you tap the spectrum window, it will switch from spectrum to oscilloscope.
Didn't know about the DXi oscilloscope - Nice!!! Great apps, both DXi and FM4
