Morphwiz- I read that the loop recording was removed.
seems like the main reason people were interested in the app. Is this true and if so are there any plans to return it.
also what's your general take on the app?

?
The sequencer was removed years ago. I don't think it was ever a major selling point for the app anyway which is more about the user interface.
@kobamato.
Great sounds, lots of detail possible in the programming, playing surface afforded a lot of expression (SynthX was the only other iOS synth like this at the time). The graphics completely turned me off to the instrument. The little wizard guy and the colors, bleh. You can turn off all that stuff per patch but not globally. But I'll never be able to unsee that little wizard guy...for me the best of all the Wiz apps is sample wiz, still nothing like it and I'm still using it...
really, on every video people are complaining about it being missing, most saying its the reason they got it... so I've just finished watching every video I could find on it and Jordans tutorials were pretty cool..... I love synth x btw. just contemplating the bundle and trying to figure out if morphwiz and tachyon were worth getting. Samplewiz is really amazing, if I understand correctly you can build something in it and load it into geosynth that is a great combo.
thanks guys.
SampleWiz is one of the few that's still on my 'surely one day' list. Never quite got my hands around what the benefit/use would be for me, but have been happily drowning in HarmonyWiz for the past few days after owning it for years and never using it, so I am now thinking the next ten bucks will have to be found etc....what area/aspect do you find it useful for Sir?
@JohnnyGoodyear SampleWiz lets you either record or paste in an audio sample, decide which part of the audio wave to use, select any of three different types of sample processing, speed up or slow down the sample, play on the wave form itself with your fingers, or use the built-in keyboard, a midi keyboard, or virtual midi to play them. If you decide to try different sample process or other adjustment you can save these as presets where you can add a photo/graphic of your choice from photos to be associated with your preset. Your presets in SampleWiz transfer straight across to Geo Synth with the push of a button.
Why is Geo Synth useful? It has a Guitar-like keyboard layout that allows you to play in a way that allows you to go up and down octaves similar to the way a guitarist would go up and down the fretboard it also allows you to do massive bends like in Geo Shred and to control the amount of bending you can do, pick a scale, tuning, and the layout of the notes on the keyboard. Furthermore, Geo Synth has voice per channel MIDI capability which means instead of having just one channel of MIDI for sending out MiDI data it has 16 channels which is important because if too much data is sent via a MIDI channel then the MIDI control starts to break down since MIDI is a serial protocol meaning only one thing at a time goes through so using all 16 channels provides GeoSynth with some parallel MIDI processing to handle more notes, bends, and other MIDI goodness.
@JohnnyGoodyear
Hope you are well!
these days I'm making field recordings which in this case means recording off the TV speaker or live vocal fragments or what have you, and using its granular processing/sample manipulation to create an "instrument" for sequencing into MTS, or slicing the audio in same. The play surface and manipulations possible are really quite something. I mostly source with iPhone, but ends up on the iPad Semi-Pro
The sounds it ships with are cool and fragments of music also become very interesting

"Just before the release of MorphWiz, Jordan made a series of videos to explain this groundbreaking instrument.
The first video (top left) is a brief introduction, and the other videos explore specific menus and functionality in detail.
In the current version of MorphWiz, the loop recorder has been replaced by AudioBus, which allows you to use other apps for recording. The loop recorder will be restored in a future build."
The NOISE 5D by ROLI Ltd. app with 3D Touch support on iPhone 6/6S has a synth that can be played with voice per channel via Geo Synth, since there are very few synths that support this, I thought I'd mention it plus they say they will be adding Audio Units soon to the app.
great info guys and thanks Bianca for the great news, I'm happy to learn that the recorder will return, the way Jordan uses it in the video is perfect in a (ain't broke don't fix it) way
purchased the bundle after reading that.
I don't think you should hold your breath though ......
I'll ask him about it. I don't like to keep my eggs in one basket, audiobus is beyond great but I like to get immersed in one app and then move on to the next one and then bring it all together with audiobus especially now with Link.
@Littlewoodg @Paul Plenty of good info there, thanks so much. I am convinced that 'field recording'/sampling real life is a much under-used resource for me and so this does sound interesting.
I know they are such different approaches but I do find both Samplr and Egotist great for this purpose, but this approach sounds very slick. It's taken me a while to get past the 'Jordan R as a rent-a-quote for all things iOS', but that diffidence has probably been my loss...thanks again for taking a moment to clarify/explain.
@JohnnyGoodyear I think Jordan Rudess may be over exposed in iOS but I think it's because he's been genuinely interested in expanding the potential of iOS devices since day one and has enough pull in the music world to bring the necessary musical and software talent together to make things happen. Jordan could be doing a lot of things with his time and surely does so I think when people know his motivations and what he's doing for iOS and music technology in general, I think it may make it easier to overlook his over exposure in terms of iOS related events. In many ways his performing skills, commercial music success, knowledge of music theory, and music technology, plus a drive to move forward in these arenas make him standout and helps to explain why he has become the face of iOS. It'd be nice if there were more people like Jordan around but it's difficult to find all of those qualities in one person.
@Paul Fair comment and an informative one also. I think I may have been sub-consciously put off by the look of Geo Synth also and all the damn wizards in the hats added a childish overlay, but once I got past the drawing page of HarmonyWiz and realized the intrinsic possibilities and then heard in Geo Shred the pure 'instrument-ness' of it, I became convinced. Judge a man by his materials I guess....
@JohnnyGoodyear you certainly aren't alone in your reaction to the Wiz theme in their apps and they'd probably be better off taking a more straightforward less flashy/sparkly approach to their GUI design.
Hi Jordan, when are you planning to put the loop recorder back into Morphwiz?
