Any info on when this gets released? I'll be honest, I found the run-up to this app to be a bit annoying. It feels like it's been in beta for years and there's been too much pre-hype for that long of a beta.

No idea, it's just that it keeps getting better and better. More and more features.

Hype can work against a product, but the continuing work put into this app is going to be worth the wait.

  • That's cool, and I appreciate that all the feature requests/bug fixing is being done on the front end. There has been a few announcements that seem to have been intentional advertisement, that were many months ago.

I don't know for fact, but from each iteration I've used, it seems to me that new ideas just keep finding there way into the mix.

  • I'm not trying to hype it either, I'm just really excited by the app :)

  • the pics and comments on their facebook page do give the impression that this is going to be one well-rounded and thought out app (it seems anyways) And it'll work on old ipads - even ios 5.1 if I remember reading right! I've been looking forward since early this year.... there was talk of spring, but I think now it'll be at least February or maybe a bit longer. Hope I'm wrong - but yeah, it looks really sweet!

If we don't find any show-stopping bugs in this release - and if apple is quick with the review - modstep will be available before the end of 2015 :)

It's true we've had a very very long beta phase - mainly because it started out as a much smaller side project and then step by step turned into the app it is now. We did not do any advertisements however! We just kept putting out some infos here and there as we wanted to keep this process as open as possible, to get users on board early and to mix up our biased view we were bound to have after spending this much time working on the app. It was/is hugely helpful to have an outside view on things, even for a longer time during development (and beyond!)

The last year - and especially the past 2-3 months - with the modstep beta have been very intense, with loads of fundamental changes and new additions, but in the end i think everyone of them was worth it, and now we're just eager to find out how you will like the app :)

    Cheers,
    Chris

  • Fair enough. On reflection, the main post I was referring to (a Dischord post) was more Tim Webb being super excited about the app and hyping it himself :) Sorry for misrepresentation!

For the record, I have been excited to try it 'cause of the sneak peeks I've seen!

  • Wow that's great news. Yet another awesome app appearing this fall/winter. Yet another amazing year for apps - perhaps the best yet!

Will u let us know when it's submitted @cblomert?

  • @cblomert

Hope I haven't overstepped by posting here, just had to shout out how great this is going to be :)

  • @Fruitbat1919
absolutely not, we don't really believe in NDAs :) cheers for your kind words!!

@Halftone it is actually submitted already, but it will probably not be reviewed before the itunes team goes on break on the 22nd.. so we hope for the end of december right now :)

  • Whoopee! So there's a small chance it could show up before xmas... can you tell us any other details like price and performance expectations? Like how well it'll run on my iPad 4 for example. Looking ver forward to this!!!

  • ... Oh and perhaps most importantly - the question of the day: Link support coming to Modstep?

I asked on their FB site. The answer looks very positive.

  • Oh boy. This app could be right up there with Auria Pro and Patterning as app of the year if it delivers

W00t! Congrats to you and the entire team. That had to feel good after all this time!

  • Your gonna prob like this?

  • Can anyone confirm that MS link support in audiobus is flawed?
In ab the link 'led' is greyed out and I can't get a audiobus global start button(I don't think this one is link related). But anyway MS is link responsive/synced
