Cause garageband is not what comes to mind for serious mobile electronic music

But it is a great entry level app and certainly useful as a basic daw to record in for some

I never said it was a great daw. But it's a great example of how iPad apps can be re-factored for iPhone.

I would love to have it on my new iPhone 6s, especially if it will sync project from my iPad so it could work on my iPad at home and mix and arrange on my phone while on the train.

Giving this thread a necro bump after spending 2 hours editing audio output by Auxy.

To my ears Auxy sounds gorgeous, and its sequencer GUI is inspiring, so I feel like it's worth a little extra work to use it. But it is so darn tedious getting audio out of the thing. In my case, I pushed record in Auxy then recorded each cell separately, manipulating Auxy's lovely audio effects in real time. This resulted in an 11 minute audio file that I edited into about 50 separate loops in Ableton Live. Yet another ios app that is 90% of the way to being great, but doesn't make it all the way there IMO. Auxy on iphone already has Link, so if it was on the bus, I could have captured the loops in loopy and it probably would have taken half the time.

I'm so hoping that Gadget for iphone provides a convenient little MIDI sequencer like Auxy that is easier to get audio out of. Direct export to Ableton Live like Gadget for ipad would be simply amazing.

Really looking forward to Korg Gadget on iPhone....should fit right into my Ableton workflow using link.

I have a question about Auxy for iPhone, does it have midi out?

Sort of. You can export a MIDI file but it doesn't send MIDI out.

  • It's here. It's tiny (on an iPhone 6s). I think I need new glasses.
