Deleting AudioCopy Files

Hi Everbody,

I've just received a question from a user regarding AudioCopy and I'd like to know how iOS musicians deal with this issue.

Hello,

I love SoundPrism Pro (especially with the Loopy HD app) but I am having serious issues with the amount of storage it takes up on my iPad. Is there a way for me to delete the recordings saved through AudioCopy?

Thank you,
Soandso

Any ideas?

AudioShare can delete files from both Sonoma (all 12 slots, selectable of course) and the general pasteboard. Don't know of any other app that can tap into all that stuff.

Edit: Or did he mean from Soundprism? Dunno, if it puts rendered audio in iTunes file sharing within an app it's up to the app if there's a delete recordings function or not. So either connect the iPad and delete via iTunes or a program like iFunbox.

  • As ChrisG said You can use Audioshare to delete audio copied files by clicking on the pasteboard icon and choosing edit. If you don't have Audioshare a clumsy workaround is to audiocopy 12 very small files. This will clear out any large files copied since audiocopy can only hold 12 files.

AudioShare works really well. I've bought it exactly to solve this problem and then discovered the fantastic and useful app it is with all its features.
And I still wonder why Apple made this thing the way it is (and other things in iOS as well, like the absence of folders to keep your files organized) . Thanks God there are only 12 slots for files in ACP. But if they're long pieces, with 10MB per minute at 44.1kHz, it is a problem for smaller
    and crowded devices.

  • It is usefull software for copy, delete, long path files.
Please try "Long Path Tool" program.

It really depends on which apps you are mainly using. Each allowing varying degrees of access to Audiocopy, Audioshare, Dropbox, etc.

    Is this still an option/relevant?

If so, has AS changed? Perhaps I am looking for this functionality but don't see the relevant 'edit' button. Any tips?

  • I'm not a super avid Loopy HD user yet, I do play around with it. Could this have something to do with the temporary files that get passed to AudioCopy? (Many apps with shaky AudioCopy export forget to delete mix downs and such when using AudioCopy and offer no 'built-in' way of deleting these temporary files).

Deleting stuff in AudioCopy is different story, like no way to delete empty folders without use of Computer & iFunBox...

  • @JohnnyGoodyear The old Sonoma ACP is gone, but the general pasteboard can be deleted. Just swipe it in the paste menu and it will reveal the delete button.
