Distortion effects- suggestions please.
I am looking for an app with 1) a variety of distortions to choose from 2) Audiobus support 3) Ability to process not guitar plug ins- but synths on the Audiobus input. Any ideas?
Cheers

Caramel
Tonestack... Anything can mangle sounds in IOS, doesn't have to be just for synths or guitar or whatever...
Flux:fx for weird flying haggis for oldschool
Caramel is very good
Tone stack for guitar and flux for keys but both will work with either.
Tonestack
Flection
+1 for Flection. Many different kinds of distortion, each tweakable. From subtle to total destruction.
I like caramel too.
Closest I've come to the 'crush' effect built into Animoog - which I am in love with.
You could also look at Glitch1 too. It has a basic bitcrush on it and gives you other nice things that you can dial in randomness for.
I like it.
Not really on the bus, but if you use Auria, Fabfilter Saturn is more than excellent (for both guitars and keyboards).
SquashIt from Klevgr.
Multiband distortion, simple and intuitive interface.
Fabfilter Saturn is the only one I need. Used it on guitar and Moog analog synth earlier. Only one I see myself needing on an iPad.
I'd add Effectrix, Turnado, WOW, DFX, and Kuvert to your list.
I feel like it should be pointed out that most of the FX designed for guitar use run in mono, which may (or may not) be an issue for you if you're primarily running synths through whatever you get.
Anyway, I'd strongly recommend picking up Muckraker - it's FREE, and is also a very characterful and unusual distortion effect. WOW filterbox has a number of very nice sounding distortion algos which can help give you that 'WAY overdriving the input of an analog filter' sound (one of my fave sounds, and my primary use for my moog MF-101 as far as non-iOS stuff goes). And +1 to Flection, which is quite versatile and more interesting than your typical distortion effect, with lots of waveshaping/wrapping/whatever fun to be had.
Thanks folks- I am on the case(s) now.
True stuff. I think ToneStack is the only one that will allow stereo processing. It does require setting up parallel chains (vs just saying 'keep it all stereo, thx' and setting up a single chain).
Depending on your worldview/time available, you might want to check out Audulus too.
