Do You guys remember the name of that crazy expensive video beat making app that came out?

came out a while ago I can't remember the name. the one that you could do video fx with at the same time and it was like a zillion dollars?

Comments

  • yeaaaaaah, that's the one! haven't heard much about it lately, I wonder if they've got a sale going on, now i can go check , thanks Pierre

  • looks like it's still up there, anyone taken the plunge and wanna share how much they love the app?

  • By the way, I bought it (crazy me:)....

...and I very much like it, the workflow with gadget is very direct, you can export clips from the Korg app and paste them into the "abletonesque" clip launcher, and pick your videos from the camera roll

there is a "sound" to it, everything that comes out is "trippy" and experimental ,the quality of the sound fx or maybe it's the epileptic hypnosis state coming from the video loops that makes me feel like that

I'm still waiting for the next update that should significantly improve the experience, like the sound and the video exported at once, since now they are exported separately, plus a bunch of new video fx (not too worry as the developper is posting videos of his "work in progress" very often)

I never heard of a sale for now

  • oh thanks for the info, I plan to keep my eyes on this one.

  • It is $89 here in Canada. Recommended iPad Air.
There is a Lite version that is free.

  • I would have bought it if I had an Air or better, but alas, just this hunk of 4.

  • From all the video demos I have seen so far, I am not impressed with the visual effects. Does the control GUI that floats over the video dissapear when outputting to Airplay or a hard-wired HDMI output; so just the visual effects show? How would this compare to Vidibox, which is less expensive?

  • I dont know about vidibox, I really like Generate though for a cheap alternative
Takete has a little bit of a overcomplicated interface and it take some time to find your way around it

also it is unstable and crashes often while preparing your scenes (pasting and deleting files etc...) which is a shame considering the high price tag (my advice for somebody interested would be to wait for the next big update and see from there, better export, more FX and improved midi),
then while performing I'm having a great time but the result are not for everybody for sure (its easy to check on you tube or on takete facebook channel)

the control GUI dissapear when plugged or airplay (haven't tried myself), they are not present on the exported videos either

  • There is now a Takete Light. I downloaded it and it is a lot of fun at that price point. The sessions time out, but you get the idea. It's a trancy experimental film kit for people to have fun with. Or possibly a scratchpad. It's the visual Figure. Easy to do. You can make music with Figure, but there are so many better tools if you are looking to really create something. Because that takes time and effort.

Perhaps I'm missing the point, but $79 should mean more than making a movie during a bus ride. Still, if you're smoking the right stuff, this could become your favorite app.

  • The problem with vidibox is the low resolution, which the dev said was done so as to get it running on all ipad types. When you're using clips in a video with other higher-resolution sections it looks kinda bad, depending on the content.
