Great Stuff! You really need a Rise (or an iPhone 6S) because you just used 2D from the 5D
I will bother Roli to give you one too....or we should make donate you one all together. I would be in because you gave us so much here in general mate, thank´s!
The Equator synth is just amazing and so easy to map your modulations. Noise app is just a little inside of it. A plus on a flat screen is that you can do faster slides and also diagonal slides plus adding pressure (which works also on the Rise but you have to watch out to not retrigger a note in between).
When i ever can´t play my Rise anymore for some reasons i will send it to you
Thanks for this Sir Doug.
I have been deliberately ignoring this app amongst the recent deluge and the fact that it's another release without AB/etc etc as regards handy outs, makes it easy to continue to do so.
Appreciate the relative quality of what they offer, but the need for further functionality makes it very easy to put it on the long ticker list of apps that I hope will get an update sometime in, say, February when things have quietened down and there are a few unspent shekels in these threadbare Christmas pockets...
@Cinebient An iPhone would be no good, I can hardly see the iPad and I really don't like playing keys on smaller screens.
Of course I would love a Rise, that would be amazing, but way beyond my budget. And I don't think Roli would give me one.
Great idea in a campaign to get me a RISE, you can donate to my PayPal using [email protected]
I just played this app for my lunch break. I like it lots. Cool vid above. Wish it had AB, but....maybe???? future....
@JohnnyGoodyear if you have Geo Synth you should really get the NOISE 5D app as it's one of the few iOS synths (WaveGenerator is another) that can take advantage of the voice per channel MIDI control that Geo Synth can provide which means you have all sorts of note bending, pitching, and sliding pitch snapping, and scale selecting possibilities if you play NOISE 5D with Geo Synth.
I would have never known. In fact, even now I know I'm not certain I know enough to make it all work (intimidated? moi?), but GEO....hang on
[pause]
OK, OK, I just got Roli, you bastard you It sounds glorious. YES. Things designed for the glass and the fingers on it.
Will try to do what you suggest viz GEO but will also sit back again in hope that more out options occur....
Thanks Paul. I think
@JohnnyGoodyear Here's a couple of screen shots on how to setup the MIDI in each app. NOISE 5D definitely needs to have IAA and Audiobus support.
Just bought the Hybrid Acoustic pack and completely blown away by the quality of the sounds! The sooner this app gets AB and/or IAA the better!
MoForte, the developers who were instrumental in creating Geo Shred are also working on MIDI MPE (expressive MIDI for enhanced expressive playability) support for apps and to a large degree NOISE 5D was created to showcase the benefits of MIDI MPE and their ROLI Seaboard keyboards with Jordan Rudess being a common denominator in both projects. This next year I'd anticipate more apps which utilize MIDI MPE to be released.
@JohnnyGoodyear Just to complete the circle here the moForte Guitar by moForte.com app is worth a look since you have Geo Shred as it has some similarities and significant differences.
You are a holy terror Sir, think of the look of sadness on my child's face when his penniless father is off elsewhere leaving the mother to explain why St. Nick brought him nothing this year (not to mention the tumbleweeds in the larder...)...
In other news: Thanks for the screenshots! Will do my level best to make it work etc.
Hmmmm. Yes, this one makes a fierce noise. Some interesting options. for playing AND writing. Have only played with it a little to see the lay of the land, but don't see much in the way of outs, a current preoccupation of mine
@JohnnyGoodyear Yes both the MoForte and ROLI app seem to be more demo apps than music creating apps in their current form so their lack of ways to get your music out doesn't seem to have been part of their app development consideration but hopefully full blown working apps with reasonable work flow outputs will be forth coming.
@JohnnyGoodyear you'll just play your kid a jolly old song to cheer 'em up just like in a made for TV version of a Christmas Carol.
Who knows, eh? Along for the ride.....it's particular irksome with ROLI however, and one of the reasons I generally avoid getting too into things that I can't really then use is the crushing disappointment It would seem to me at least that selling soundpacks isn't going to get so very far without the ability to USE what you make etc. Fingers crossed.
In the Roli knowledgebase they make a very heavy handed hint that the full Equator may make it over to iOS.

Yes some really great sounds, and a good demo for the Seaboard, but I'm not going to part with money for the expansion packs until it has a way for me to actually use the sounds. Get AB and I'd pribably get the lot. Nice tip earlier about hooking up the Geo Synth, so Thanks Paul!
Pwee-cisely.
