I'll have to check those guys out, I've heard good things. These must be recordings of that new korg keyboard, right?
Turn off your mind relax and float down stream
Pretty much the best advice I've ever gotten....
Yeah, yeah, yeah!
No, not them! And not Them either...
Who? Yes! Them...
You guys are the bees knees.... or was that Bee Gees?
Different kind of Animals altogether (right now)
It was pretty nice to put on Rubber Soul and clear the bar out tonight... Can't wait to make a Sgt. Pepper's Lonley Dub playlist...
In all seriousness, I always hold up "Tomorrow Never Knows" as, in my estimation, the greatest quantum leap in recorded music history. I mean, looking at studio recordings prior, TNK sounds like it was delivered from some hellish, psychedelic spacecraft. With all the innovation in recording and sound synthesis that's followed, I can't think of as shocking a sea-change as that track. One that so completely advanced the medium by light years.
Love that assessment and yes...
George Martin was a genius.
There's more to it than that. Lennon worked closely w/ engineers to restructure amps. Methods of double tracking were invented there and then, at the behest of the lads. Musique concrète-style loop contributions from the whole band...
Not to devalue Martin's ear or prowess, mind you.
Not really sure what that was but still, George Martin was a freaking genius!
Acid...
Hahahah
Acid didn't help subsequent geniuses (Hendrix, Syd Barrett, etc.) to elevate the recorded medium again. Not on that level!! Electric Ladyland, Piper At The Gates Of Dawn... All innovative, in terms of performance and composition, but nowhere near as big a departure from what went before.
He still is
Yes... I think he accidentally dropped his cigarillo ash onto the master reel, thereby altering music history.
Spotify only has remastered versions. Want originals!
The Beatles mono set sounds fantastic, I really like listening to them like that.
