Line6 Sonic Port VX...
Hey guys, anyone have any thoughts on this interface for the iPad? As a guitar player, and recording wanna be, I think it'll do the job since I hate to lugg around a lot of cables and stuff. This seems to feed from the iPad battery.
Anyone using one?

I have the non vx version (without the mic) and I'm pretty happy with it.
As a bonus it unlocks the line 6 mobile pod app.
Thanks! Yeah I really love the MIC idea as it will allow me to do some tracking in several room where otherwise I would not be able to record due to all the cables and stuff.
This YouTube video sold me on it:
Don't think you can use the mic and line in at the same time though, which is a drawback.
I have it and love it. It's handy in so many ways. Line in, line out to a powered cab or straight to a board, line to monitor. And if you buy a cheap RAV battery pack on Amazon, it will power your iPad/iPhone.
Then, there's astounding feature 21: use the headphone out to totally bypass your iDevice's headphone jack and use the VX as a soundcard. Plug in some flat response 'phones and you can mix, really mix with this thing
Haven't needed to use the Mic yet, but seems like it would be great for capturing remote vocals or field recording (and even has stereo mics for the latter).
I wanna use it with Auria where I can have separate bus groups in case I wanna track and send the whole mix to a separate group and control that volume from there. Cause I noticed it doesn't have a volume out control. Has that been an issue?
I already have an audio interface, but if it's sending guitar line level signal, seems to me you'd control your volume with your guitar and/or amp sim. It worked fine running a signal into my old Peavey Bandit without it, if that helps at all ...
Actually, it appears you can use both simultaneously. I remember looking this up for a prior discussion - ignore the OP on this thread, and drop down to the 3rd and 4th posts - Line 6 weighs in, followed by a screenshot from the manual:

That's cool and good to know, thanks for the correction.
Super cool!
Only thing is that the input would be mixed in with the two channels so you couldn't separate those two channels into their own tracks. Pretty cool still.
@richardyot Happy to help
Is it a must to have the p blocker or would the mics get damaged if i don't use one?
I finally got my VX guys. I almost decided to return it too as I couldn't figure out a way to get rid of the huge amount of white noise. No matter what applied or plugin I used it was there. I figured it might be a faulty unit or something. Until, I switched the little side switch to monitor the VX's inputs, moved the direct monitor switch towards the MIC grill of the VX. Guess what, the white noise was reduced by a whole lot. I would say over 75 % gone. There is still ambient noise as I was not in a recording booth, bit it was completely bearable as compared to the original.
Things got even better when I used the Pro Q2, Microwarmer and ProMB in the inserts
the quality was completely there especially when I used the Pro MB vocal gate preset.
VX users did you also noticed a lot of white noise?
