some apps have updated by themselves on my iPad mini 4, never happened before!! :(

I'm running os 9.0 and this is the first time that this has happened, and it's happening with apps that I hadn't updated on purpose for a long time like Beat time.... and I am miffed. what is this, is this happening to you? I just turned the iPad on and I noticed there was nothing to be updated, so I check and all of the stuff waiting to be updated just says open... like everything else.

  • Ugh ouch, sorry. Sounds like you have automatic app updates on. Check under Settings>iTunes & App Store>Updates. Should be off if you want to manage them yourself.

  • Without being absolutely sure, i think that sometimes when updating to a new IOS version it fiddles with some of the settings

    Have you upgraded recently?

  • I thought I've noticed this on occasion - I never turn on my wifi unless I'm uploading a song to sc or downloading samples to Audioshare..and no auto update on too. But I swear there's times I've opened an app and noticed something different about it but yet know for sure I never updated

  • Similarly, I have had app updates without initiating them, and this is recent development... not to mention that my iPhone 5 running 8.4.2 has acted a touch less stable nowadays. And I have not changed any settings regarding app updates.

  • definitely always keep automatic updates off, I don't know what's the deal, this is the first time that I know it's happened for sure, there were other times when I thought my mind was playing tricks on me but this time it hit my protected apps. I haven't updated the os since I went to 9.0, and always have automatic disabled.

now I'm wondering if I should just go on and update to the latest os or should I stay on 9.0?
