great tutorial! god, I wish there was a way to turn off the star sparkle around the finger press area. Very distracting! Or change it into something else. More transparent and subtle. I'm all for tactile feedback but those are most annoying and not useful for me.
I do hope they make a synth version of this with MIDI
@johnfromberkeley The video really shows how much depth and control you have in Geo Shred which is about a whole lot more than just shredding.
I'm impressed with the control. It's not locked to a style too, which I appreciate even more. The demo videos might make it seem so, they're well done, nonetheless, but it seems GS is capable of any style. Kudos for creating an instrument!
This app appears to be really well thought out, and the tutorial might be a tad "How It's Made - iPad Edition" sounding, but it really is comprehensive. Thanks for sharing, @johnfromberkeley!
As for a MIDI/Synth version, isn't that already available with GeoShred's older sister, GeoSynth? Jordan indicated an update to GeoSynth is coming. It would be a shame if relevant control/interface items weren't updated to be in lockstep with everything they learned designing kid brother GeoShred. I suspect we'll see a stronger family resemblance soon
Sorry I don't have a time stamp for you, but I seem to recall that was under the global settings > disable finger sparkles (or whatever he calls them) - through most of the tutorial, it's turned off. Apparently the narrator found it distracting, too
There is a disable finger effects setting.
The more I play this thing, the quieter I get (less posturing) and the more I like it (and I liked it plenty before).
I almost didn't watch the tutorial as I thought I had already seen it, but this is much more comprehensive than the one I saw before, and shows how much depth there is to this app.
Jordan already said midi i/o is coming to geoshred in the other thread.
I hope all of the knobs can be mapped and will be recordable as well.
what a great video, this app was really worth the money.
does anybody know the name of the tutor, I like his pace and would like to check out some other tuts of his?
Bought it. Like it. But there's no reason why they couldn't have implemented midi like they did on Geo Synth, which would have taken the app to the next level.
I've looked but can't seem to find the disable sparkles setting. Any help would be appreciated!
Yeh, thanks all but I still don't see it. Hope it turns off the dumb fuzzy and too large particles that stream off your finger in the expression pad for not good reason as I can tell.
It was shown near the end of the video, but must have been removed, or added to next update.
I love you. Really. You know, in a thoroughly manly tousle-your-hair and slap-my-own-thigh kind of way. But I think it's a little bit of a stretch to announce there's no reason why they couldn't have implemented midi like they did on Geo Synth, maybe they had sore fingers or ran out of money or simply left the code back home in their working pants Bruce. Here's hoping it's coming down the tracks...
@Coloobar @JohnnyGoodyear they haven't implemented MIDI for Geo Shred yet because they're working on a MIDI MPE implementation rather than just regular MIDI. Geo Shred requires way more information to play so they need to go with the enhanced MPE standard to do so.

Good to know. I really hope it's more than a check in the mail.
