SynthCaster vs. Geo Shred

Can anyone say how Geo differs from this $1 app?

Comments

  • two different beasts in my opinion. Geo shred has great sounds but it has not (yet?) midi out to be used as a midi controller, SynthCaster works very well as a midi controller but i don't like how it sound...

  • i always found myself bending notes in Synthecaster I didn't want to bend - the slightest movement on those squares and the pitch would shift....I also didn't really like many of the presets.

At first, I thought GeoShred looked too much like Synthecaster and I why would I need it - but upon purchasing GeoShred, I'm more than happy. It just plays and feels better overall. And the presets/sounds are much better quality than Synthecaster.

  • Synthcaster would be more fairly compared to Geo Synth, I think - both allow you to use a guitar fretboard interface as a midi controller.

GeoShred appears way more advanced than either, but it is not currently a midi-controller. But it does have a rich feature set :)

If I stayed up to shout at the sunrise anymore (which I most certainly don't) GeoShred would get me through the dark coke-rush hours on more nights than many.

Gulps and shivers as thoughts of days of ole' race through my spine to the tips of my toes.

  • I’m choosing between this and ifretless bass 🤔

Omg. Brings back too much. I wish I had GeoShred 30 years ago instead of freaking out on who could we call at 5:00am as the sun starts peaking up. 😁

I have both. iFretless is sample based. Geoshred is a modeling synthesizer. Two different beasts. Geoshred is far superior as a midi controller for other apps. Not even a close contest.

  • Damn GeoShred came out in 2015?! Holy crap time flies
