Spotlight is also my main shortcut. The slight pause before the OS readjusts its result list though annoyingly gets me clicking on web search instead of the app fairly often though.

In settings, you can set what Spotlight will search through. Uhecking stuff you don't care about will speed it up a lot.

  • Any ideas on how to increase the speed you copy stems to your favorite DAW?
I always get bored with this process

I used to like when I had a jailbroken device and used cydia's iFile to copy stuff without a computer

Great time to write rhyming couplets or make silent promises you may not keep...

Is Applications still checked in settings?

  • @Sebastian I think it would be handy to add a note to AB state presets. There are many times when I use unsupported apps or outside hardware alongside a preset and need a way of remembering the full setup. Additionally, it would be a big help when sharing them.

Instead of spotlight, why not just say "hey Siri, open audiobus"

Or whatever app you want. When I remember to use it I am surprised how helpful and acccurate Siri is for quick small tasks

Yep. Spotlight is the way for me. On Mac too.

If only spotlight would be like spotlight.
It finds nothing on iOS :(

For opening apps and playing music Siri is great

    • play me some Beatles
      turn the music of
      Open blah blah app
      Play me a podcast
Wake me up in an hour

No. I don't even see an applications toggle

  • I think the "Hey Siri" is creepy, all listening in on you and shit.
Plus, wouldn't it be a resource/battery drain for such a trivial task manager?

  • Some good ideas here. Thanks all for sharing!

True story, I just talked to a co-worker who has Hey Siri set up on his 6s and didn't even know it exists and has never used it. There's Apple, just listening constantly.

I was referring more to the standard home button Siri usage. I really don't know how much Battery drain Hey Siri causes. I would imagine it could really affect an audio session having iOS keeping resources for mic access. And does it listen over a USB connected audio interface?? Many Questions...

  • What would Gene make of Siri....

  • If they ever bring siri to the iPad, it’d be interesting to see if it can ask questions itself. I believe at the moment it can only answer questions in the same way that google does on the phone.

  • Siri is available on the iPad.

Hey (insert your name here) did you remember to wash your hands after your number 2?

  • Even better if it had a toilet flush sound recognition
