Beautiful FREE .sfz Piano to use in Auria Pro's Lyra Sample Player
Up until now my favorite iOS pianos by far have been in iGrand. But with the arrival of Auria Pro's Lyra sampler which can handle large .SFZ soundfonts, I think I may have found a new favorite...and it's free!

From Ivy Audio's description:
"Piano in 162 features five dynamic levels, two round robins, and separate pedal on and off samples for a true to life sound with realistic sympathetic resonance."
Here are some samples from Ivy Audio's site:

@theartwebreathe Appreciate the post/push/nudge. I have never been a 'loader' of sound fonts etc., but I have a feeling this will learn me...
@theartwebreathe
Cheers, do you know the file size for this one ? I can't see any info on the site.
4 gigs ish (it actually says 4.58 on the download; gonna need a bigger boat....)
Many cheers
@JohnnyGoodyear
Might try the Salamander one first...poor broadband - moan / groan...
Wow 4 gigs! Thanks!
Yeah, it's definitely big, but that's the beauty of the Lyra Sampler, it handles the large files with no issues at all!
Forgive my ignorance (you knew this was coming, right? ). I downloaded the zipped file and dropped into the Auria folder via iTunes. Opened a new project in Auria (and saw a dialogue noting 'Decompressing file...'). I was hopeful/naive enough to see the 162 listed in the Lyra instrument dropdown, which of course I didn't see, but wonder if you can point me to where (I'm guessing) I might load or see the instrument....
Ok, so here's what you need to do:
I'm not sure if there's a way to do it only using iTunes (anyone know?)
Will give it a go Captain. Thank you for your explicit instructions etc.
@JohnnyGoodyear be sure to delete the 4gb file you just unzipped into Auria as well. You should be able to do this from Auria itself, using "import file" from the menu to locate the folder that was unzipped and swiping to delete it.
I was wondering 'bout that in my slow Lenny-Small-like way....
Pleased to say it worked fine, as per your instructions. Once loaded the pianos sounded as advertised, but it must be said I got low memory-warnings and had some breaking-up. This is, no doubt, a limitation of my Air1, rather than anything (beyond the size!) directly connected to the sound font. May not be usable for me at this time, but two good outcomes:
a) I learned how to get fonts 'in' (which also involved reinstalling ifunbox; always a good option) and
b) ....another reason to upgrade this iPad for something yet more shiny.
Thanks again.
Large pianos shouldn't take a lot of memory (because Lyra streams directly from disk instead of loading the entire sample into memory like other iOS samplers). Make sure you're not running a lot of other apps in the background, and also do a reboot, to make sure iOS has cleared any memory leaks.

Yeah, I'm running mine on the Air 2 and haven't noticed any performance issues yet. Glad you were able to get it working!
