See, Matt does find everything. Somewhat similar to Rhythm Necklace is Sequence. http://sequence.nyquistresearch.com
And yep, Yamaha MMS is available for iPhone and supports IAA and core MIDI. I still haven't had a chance to get down with this app. The phrase thing confuses me each time. But yeah, would appear to be all there. 200mb.

littleMidi used to be rock solid now it just bombs on me
Anyone else have this problem?
Unfortunately, yes.
Here's a overview of the phrase system
Rinse Repeat
Its a very flexible pain in the butt.
@audiblevideo Thanks very much!
LMM is still working for me. iPhone 6, iOS 8.4.
Thought that readers of this thread might be interested in this track.
100% iPhone. Animoog + Elastic Drums - made using Bassline as the sequencer (plus some notes ad libbed on the Animoog keyboard). I used LINK and AB into MultiTrack Daw. Needs some mixing/mastering obviously.
Bassline is nice because you can switch patterns on the audiobus bar - plus it's Link.

Regarding Yamaha Mobile Music Sequencer.
If the 'Pharse Thing' feels scary there is absolutely no need to use it at all!
Just go directly to the 'Song Mode'(Press 'Song' under Section Edit button), Tap on an empty area and select create to make a section that can be edited as usual. In song mode you can make a selections on the time-line,loop them, enable 'follow', also when selecting a section 3 buttons appear allowing you to make the section longer, move it up or down/left and right, tapping on a section brings up a menu for cut, copy, paste, split, loop, and enter painoroll.
In the piano roll you've got full control over all midi-cc's and pretty good tools for editing, not to mention it's easy to record automation too. (press the 'record/piano' button (it doesn't start recording, just enters the 'recording mode') there you can switch between piano and instrument parameters(icon on the right with sliders). After this the 'Song Rec' button starts recording and drag the sliders away
(This is one of the best paino-roll editors for iOS in my opinion).
I really do recommend the manual that ships with the app, it's pretty well written.
Nice work @Matt_Fletcher_2000, sound great Sounds like many passes on Animoog.
And nice tip @Samu, thank you! I definitely need to spend some quality time with ymms. What you describe sounds exactly like how I'd want to approach it.
Ditto. Thanks again @Samu. The Yamahas are such a funny little family....
thanks @syrupcore and @JohnnyGoodyear
Only 1 pass / 1 patch in Animoog. That's why I love Animoog so much.
All done in one take, live twiddling.
That sounds great. Nice work, Matt_
Thanks @JeffChasteen - very of kind of you. Was a fun jam...
One of the reasons I get back to Yamaha MMS, Drums & Arp and TNR-e is that the sound reminds me so much of the SW1000XG. The apps use a pretty limited sub-set GM/XG sounds and MMS is limited to 8 parts (wish it was a full-blown GM/XG sequencer).
One funny thing about the MMS is that it's sometimes 'free' (when I got it a few years back) and now it's like $15.99...
Weird that nobody mentioned Garageband. Comes free with all iOS devices nowadays.
Garage band lacks many editing-features making it less than useful for sequencing other apps.
There is not even a way to convert/edit the notes generated by 'smart-instruments'(drums etc.). And well it's just a super-light version of the desktop version, no transposing of 'apple loops' as an example which would have made it a little more useable.
It may work as a 'start up app' but once there is a small need to dig a little deeper it fails to deliver. I know Apple can do better, but the question is will they ever do that?
Garageband is a pretty huge install. I've been trying to find a lightweight solution.
I also found it really fiddly on the phone.
