I have no idea what that means but I'm intrigued.

Nah, nothing it's too complicated. Please carry on.

  • First thought is it's got something to do with shit, and how full of it I am, to which I say: I second that emotion!

But of course not everything is about me and how full of shit I am...and my thinking it is just goes to show how full of shit I am...

I doubt it, as sh_t is very simple and Dom said it's too complicated, I highly doubt he's calling sh_t complicated, however you are full of good tips though.

My USB 'class compliant' (I think?) midi keyboard no longer works with Windows 10.

But, plug-ins for the desktop are infinitely better than iOS.

IOS has it's charms, but to replace a desktop OS?

The way I look at it it's not like marriage you don't have to just pick one
It's a costly way to see it but not as costly as marriage

  • @jocphone, that is a very smart comment (coin toss). If I ask myself "Does IOS do what I need it to do?", then its an easier answer. Every time there seems to be a hitch w Auria PRO, Rim fixes it in the upgrade ..Remember too, if the upcoming IOS version has " drummer" and Alchemy, that'll up the ante too..I got the iPad because I thought it would be more intuitive and easy, but even w "link" and the new audioshare" its still quite a noggle. Two years from now, IOS will be mature and fantastic..

    Why? Did it work before?

  • Unless you posted the same question in a Window App developer's forum and are comparing results, I suspect the answer to your question lies in the fact you posted it in an iOS App developer's forum ... The most prominent and active iOS App forum, to boot ;)

Man, no, that was just my teenage knee jerk reaction to this thread's title. As in, oh dear, another of those threads. However I do know that it is an important issue for some and appologise for the reaction. Maybe I'm just so buried in my live rig world that I'm finding more and more that it is not my gear addiction that is going to be the saviour of my creativity, but rather being creative with my gear. I'm a little demotivated right now in my own little world but I'm seeking the solution in using what I have differently as opposed to buying more stuff (nothing wrong with that).

All head shit I suppose. There you go, pass me the spade and the bucket!

  • I get it, and no worries brother.
I know exactly what you mean, the wheel of next-new-app just goes round and round. It's only fun to chat the stuff up as long as it's fun, and the gear talk (and acquisition) feels off the real point, or at least a separate track. If I'd stopped buying apps 3 years ago I'd still have more tools than I could ever fully use, such are the riches we have.

IPad with the Sonic Port VX is a recording studio dream come true. When you add Auria Pro, the awesome plug-ins for so much less, and all the synths, drumm apps, guitar effects apps, then you can see how the iPad has drastically changed my life as a mobile musician. The Sonic Port VX's three condenser studio quality mics, Stereo pair and a single mono all in a compact unit are amazing! No extra power needed, no USB hub, just plug and play/record!!! No mic cables to carry, no preamps, no nothing!!!!!
iPad and Sonic Port VX dream come true IMVHO!
    Sweetwater rules!

how do you compare with the apogee one?

  • At least some more developers start (or try?) to make multi-touch DAW´s for win!

There's another, that oddly I never see written up on mobile music sites, came to Android after Marshmallow, already nicely dialed in for touch in Windows.

On laptop and (Windows) tablet it's s vst host, has onboard synths and drum samplers, has both clip launch and timeline interface for composition.

It's free to start on Android, $10 on Windows
After it went live on Android the devs (out of Austin TX) made some hints about coming to iOS...

Touch vst host on Surface Pro, clip launch and timeline gui, $10

  • I saw there are several boxed iPad Pros 128 GB plus 4G to buy for about 900€ because they have a branding on the back. I think a company gift. For 800€ i would think about it.....maybe i try to bet.

  • I've never tried that one. But the Sonic Port VX just makes recording so much easier as ibcan record virtually anywhere in stereo or mono. Just headphones, VX and iPad. Really so simple.

  • Sonic port has been getting bad mic reviews. I'm sure the oreamp quality isn't up to the Apogee ..Anyhow my deadline came and went...I stuck with the iPad oro

Since no one answered this question yet i might ask you.... when you just plug in your headphone into the iPad Pro, has it a better, louderand more dynamic sound as with the previous iPads (or iPhones) or has it the same lame dac?
I ask because i could get an iPad Pro for a good price and might try it.

It sounds great just like the phones and smaller iPads. At least with my headphones I think there's nothing wrong with the sound quality. 900€ is a great price for 128GB 4G.

Mmhhh yeah, but i hoped for a better included sound in the pro. So a bit like a macbook pro. My headphones need more power ;)
