Jam Synth and Filtatron
Did some Jamming with Jam Synth last night. I had a boat load of fun. This thing could be really useful for a few songs for me. Not even that off the wall stuff. I bought all the xtra FX, and they are all deff. worth it IMO. Some good things to be had from this Little app. Rotary Vibe and Rainbow are really cool. I haven't figured out the usefulness of Time stopper yet? When I freeze, it basically just freezes the last note I play on my guitar. And drags it out, and out and out......You know, cuz it's froze. I had thought maybe there would be more to this FX? Maybe I am not using it correctly?
Also, I can't figure out how to adjust the volume of the app? There is a Volume icon up by the MIDI icon in the upper left, but it just mutes the app. There is a guitar level on the FX2 page, but that seems to jsut control the guitar volume, not the FX's in the app. So I was limited to control the apps volume with my ipads volume control buttons. Which isn't too bad, but not Optimum.
Filtatron:
How do you use it? What do you do with it? I can't figure out how to make it work for me? Using my guitar, I think I've tried it with ios synths as well.
Thanks!

Jam Synth is cool--if you like that one, try out MIDI Guitar and send the MIDI out to your favorite synth or sample player. I don't believe there is a master volume because Jam Synth is simply generating MIDI. The volume is controlled by bringing down the gain of each synth that you are using. That's my understanding of it, at least.
Ok, thanks! I think it is easier for me to just use the ipad volume controls than each individual synth. I've looked at MIDI Guitar, it looks great, but never felt the need to spend $20.00 for the IAP/or pro version. Is it useful without?
The demo version of MIDI Guitar is a full working version--you just get an annoying "it's time to purchase" message. At that point, you decide if it's worth $20 or not...
Ok, thanks.
I use Filtatron mainly for delay effects, the amp adds nice distortion, sometimes I make crunchy vibrato with the delay amp combo, I tried to add some stereo effects with the separation knob and LFO but to make it more pronounced I raised the resonance which in turn lowered the volume... play the OSC with the pad like a theremin, make samples of the bleeps, slow them down, reverse them, add effects to them... So it's either a very nice effect or a crazy VA sonic experimentation app.
