Synth Apps: WITH recorder/ track player

What apps have recording and playback features like Alchemy, Addictive, Nave, and/or Animoog? I guess Thumbjam also qualifies.

I am looking for the ability to record and playback WITHIN the app.

I always wonder why Virsyn doesn't include this recorder with all of their apps. It would be amazing with Poseiden.

Anyway, what apps have this feature?

    Animoog! And it sounds awesome with awesomeness sauce on top of that!

    It is just a work of art.

  • +1 for Animoog.

    iSynPoly has four track sequencer as well.

  • I suppose you could include Korg Gadget (or even the mighty Auria Pro) in this list!

    ~~~~Nlog pro
    Magellan
    Arctic keys
  • SynthX, a feature that kept it in use even tho no AB or IAA, but it seems troubled now intermittent drop outs and distortion of the unwanted variety
    Nave
    Edit - Oops, missed that one in the first post.
  • (Insert predictable response). Also argon. And Shapesynth.
    It's funny: I always think of most of these apps mentioned NOT because of their recording capabilities (using AB into GB mostly rules out even thinking about it in the workflow) and because they're sound sources to me, hence I have no appraisal of their capabilities (what ones I've used) mostly because, well... AB makes them unnecessary for the most part. Would there be a reason to use an AB-compatible app's recording feature if it's ultimately taking the AB train? If I have to practice a keyboard run to record it in the app, why not take one less step?
I would think so.
  • I can understand the appeal - it's nice whenever I can record loops for repeating parts within the app, even though I'm no DJ ;) SampleTank let's you do this, although most of the decent synth samples are IAPs. If you want guitar tones, Jam Maestro's nice. Pretty sure all the iFretless apps also let you record loops internally for export, but I've never used their recording features. MusicStudio as well ... plus it's a DAW, midi stuff, IAA, etc.
    Alchemy Mobile was/is SO good for this – hope it survives.
    Took me a long time (with help from hereabouts) to learn about the loop/record thingie in ifretless, Whole new ballgame thereafter.
    I've seen it in videos, but as a stuck-up-lead-guitarist-don't-you-know, I don't even think about loops when I see a fretboard. Now, show me some keys and yeah – loop me, Amadeus ;)
    I find one of the great blessings of having no skills is having no shame neither :)
  • @JohnnyGoodyear – viewing 300+ Soundtestroom vids clearly exposed me for the hunt and peck key plonker I really am, not the cool "McCartney's on the piano now" multi-instrumentalist I dream of becoming (hugs nearest piano roll wistfully) ;)
    That's a beaut right there.
    Not sure if I understand you but I will try to answer to my best.
    For instance, Animoog, I often create a hook on the fly as I have beat and bass line coming from another app.
    I record that hook and press play for several bars. While that is playing I am able to switch sounds completely to add another layer. Actually giving me 2 distinct sounds coming from the same app during the same live session.
    Animoog and Nave often serve to provide more than 1 sound for many projects.
    I think that my intention is more for my live "one take" recording style.
    Hope I answered what I think you were questioning.
    Virsyn Micro Addictive (which is iPhone but worth loading on iPad) and the new poly modular KQ Minisynth, universal..
