Quality Portable battery powered speaker without digital delay ?? (Not ILOUD)
Hi, I have tried to find a portable battey powered speaker for my Ipad for a long time. I know about Iloud, but to my ears it´s waaay to nasal in the upper mids so thats out... The market seems full of compact speakers that has a lot of battery time in them But they all seem to have some digital processing delay in them ranging from what sounds like 128 samples to longer. Add that up with a 128 sample delay from the Ipad app and they are to all to unresponsive to play live through...
The only one I have so far been able to use without the feel of latency is the old Logitech 715i (but that has a bad battery performance). Other brands ranging from B&0 to UE Megaboom etc. all have that little delay on them (that a normal user will not detect) but when used for live instruments they all have that latency feeling about them...
Any recommendations ??

there was a recommendation from the artist OTT whose soundwork I admire ,
for the AudioDynamix Atom V2 ;

I only have their cheaper smaller MESH for round the home listening (not playing) , which is pretty good in quality, bass & loudness for the size & price , though gets harsh at full volume . So whilst I would be wary of recommending MESH for pro music work , I can believe their higher model would live up to OTT's glowing review .
Worth checking out.
Bise mini?
Bose
Yes possibly the Bose. As a rule you would avoid the overdone bass curve of the Bose for music production. However given he already he said he wants something more artificial sounding than the ILoud , I think the overdone bass of the Bose might be his ticket. Too bad about his aversion to ILoud given it is designed exactly to do what we want for this kind of thing. It also has no latency like he mentions hearing in the others.
I love my minirig.
Thanks for the pointer, @Wally. Looks interesting. That's a pretty amazing comment of Ott's in that post, about the Atom's bass transients being like the Yamaha NS10m speakers.
There's now an Atom V3 model; I wonder how it compares. It has a more powerful battery but the amp
