Universal version of Gadget? I don't think so. I'm sure they will release an iPhone edition of Gadget. So they can make double money with some users. Same game as with Module and iElectribe.
It's on this tweet from korg:
https://mobile.twitter.com/korg_inc/status/687865829434634240
It's on Japanese but from the translation I got using Google they specifically mention universal support. (Although maybe it's poorly translated as everything using a translator so not 100% reliable)
It's all true! Gadget LE for iPhone out in March.
http://www.korg.com/us/products/controllers/nanokontrol_studio/
Oh and the new nanokey studio and nanokontrol studio are both BTLE!
That's awesome! I'm buying the nanokey for sure.
You're right. I hope this is no communcation failure from Korg. Gadget with universal support would be really really great!
I found a review (in german) mentioning the prices:
In the KORG product introduction video they state at 1:05 that the Mackie HUE protocoll is supported - this means that Auria can be controled easily
So impressed with Korg. They really are becoming the portable music champions
Yes, Hope it's not a mistake, definitely not buying it twice. ( not buying module or ielectribe iPhone versions as well)
Hmm, not sure I want to pay a hefty amount for Gadget LE. Hardware looks cool though.
My guess is that the Le version will be a free stripped down version, which will have the ability to transform into a full version if you have the appropriate Korg hardware attached.
Fingers crossed:-)
We'll be there and celebrating our 20th anniversary in our new room 210B. We'll have new products, guests, and Gavin Lurssen (incredible mastering engineer with some great credits - http://www.lurssenmastering.com) will be mastering one lucky winner's mix live at NAMM: http://www.ikmultimedia.com/news/news.php?id=637
Think the LE versions are free and are free for everyone (with or without a Korg device). Listing it there is just marketing. Could be wrong but from what I recall IK and others have to do the same because...Apple.
Word is iconnectivity will unveil something new
I would bet heavily against a free Universal Gadget for iPhone. It most definitely is coming to the phone, but will likely be priced the same as they've done for Module and iElectribe for iPhone. I'm not sure if they'll bring the two IAP modules over, either.
I literally knew NOTHING about synths and drum machines before coming across this forum and playing the apps on iOS. So I've come into electronic music almost completely backwards. I'll never own a high-end synth (happy enough with a MIDI controller and iPad hookup), but I have looked at a few of the affordable things from Teenage Engineering and the Volca line, especially now that I could capture them with a UCA202. But I'm just not sure I would use them more than I use the iPad versions of these things, other than for the "toy factor".
Just be careful. It's a much deeper, and way more expensive rabbit hole!
Yep, that's why I've stayed out thus far. I have basic interfaces, cables, a mixer and monitors (mostly for guitar use). Those things plus an iPad and MIDI controller is really all the "hardware" I really need.
Last year we had Roland's Sound Canvas, & Korgs next Gadget. Hope we will be surprised again?
Maybe Roland will release a iMC 909?
Hmmm, last one is interesting...
Hopefully that would be the mythical iPad gadget update we've all been waiting for.
10.3!
X is forever!
Teaser from Teenage Engineering, looks like a pad controller that plugs into the OP-1:

I hope Spectrasonics release Stylus RMX 2.0 including iOS remote app!
Wait Not for much longer and all be revelled..........
I think it's an old fake. They will however release 2 or 3 new POs! And I also pray for an OP1 firmware update, that would be awesome!
These are more hopes than predictions but I'd like to see more in the stand-alone analog-synth-with-patch-points world. Like the Mother-32 or the Erebus or the brutes... Pittsburg Modular's lifeforms looks beautiful but it still requires a power supply and rack (and a pile of money).
A super cheap MIDI drum sample brain/player. Something that can load kits in some standard format from an SD card. Or something that just comes with 100 kits. External MIDI control of sample pitch, volume, pan and decay.
That image from Korg says there won't be a Volca Mixer. I want Korg to do an 4-8 channel mixer with Volca sync ports and a Kaoss pad built in.
And something new form @sonosaurus!
Well, the only thing that is just about ready is a DrumJam update with Link and 3D Touch support. Still doing some testing, perhaps I'll do TestFlight public beta with it, if any of you are interested, message me.
