old apps and new ipads - checking compatibility
i'm considering purchasing a new ipad -- my current one has a few physical issues -- and after reading some threads about os compatibility i am worried i might lose a few music apps i like in the process. (at least one of them hasn't been updated in quite some time.)
is there any way to check an app, an ipad model and the os it is likely to ship with to make sure i will be able to maintain my workflow on the new platform?
Comments
I have no idea but maybe just list the apps your concerned about and the iPad model you plan to get and somebody could confirm for you. Or look up the apps in iTunes and check out Compatibility.
The iPad model doesn't matter that way (it's very rare that an app it's not compatible with an especific iPad) all apps compatible with an iPad 2 or 3 are compatible with an iPad pro or an iPad Air 2 in fact old iPads (1 to 4) are the ones no longer able to buy/download apps that are 64 bit only. If your iPad it's already on iOS 9 you won't lose any app. It's the iOS version the one that matters if you are on iOS 7/8 then a few apps might be not compatible. At this point any new iPad will ship with iOS 9.

thanks, it is indeed the os that concerns me most. i am still running os8 for just that reason.
thanks but would you mind telling me more specifically how to find this? i just hunted around on apple's site and couldn't find reference to it. do you mean it's somewhere in itunes on my desktop?
an ipad air, and the app that particularly worries me is isequence. (wrote the developer but no reply as of yet.)
