Ipad to trigger Hardware

I can connect my microbrute to the ipad in Auxy with a simple USB connection through the camera connection lead.

The microbrute is automatically recognised by Auxy and the midi channel can be set accordingly (to trigger the microbrute.)

Id like to clock the TR8 from Auxy but i get the following warning when i try to connect the TR8 through the USB port with the CCK
(SEE IMAGE ATTACHED)

Cannot Use Device TR-8: The connected Device Is Not Supported.

Would the iconnect midi2 do the job ?

this guy uses (i think) a Belkin device to achieve the same result.....

i figured it was a hardware issue.

  • So after lots of digging .... nothing :-(

as a last resort i phoned Dawsons Music store. Helpful chap there suggested a Roland UM One would get me up and running .... he was right :) after some initial confusion with the midi in and out leads i'm cooking with gas

  • So what was the problem, really?

Guess I just needed to go in via good old 5 pin midi which with the um one I can now do.
I haven't had chance to set this up properly yet but I have noticed a touch of latency ... Further experimentation required.

What I have found is the um one syncs with the TR8 without a powered USB hub!
