Wireless midi from iPhone to iPad?
This seems like such a basic question, and something that I've done before but I'm stumped. I want to use my iPhone as a midi controller for ToneStack on my iPad. I have Midi Designer Pro on the iPhone and it can connect to the iPad just fine as long as there is an app receiving connections open on the iPad. But for whatever reason I can't seem to get the app on the iPad to recognize the iPhone as a source. I think I am missing some step along the way.

I did just find this thread: https://forum.audiob.us/discussion/3652/wireless-iphone-midi-controller-to-control-ipad-and-apps and thought I should add that I have an iPad2, which doesn't have Bluetooth. The other thread is a few years old, so I'm not sure if there have been any updates since then.
WiFi (aka Network Connection) will work with iPad 2. NetMIDI can help.
I have no idea what I did, but I was at least able to get a volume control signal directly to SoundPrism over my wifi network. Now to keep playing with this to figure out a) what I did and b) getting expression over to the iPad.
