Night shift mode / flux
Has apple lost its mind?
This stuff looks like the yellowish photos leftover from the 70s.
I would understand a dark theme, but this?!?
Now everything in windows blue and 70s photos yellow,
What happened to our well calibrated displays?
LSD?

Meant to help you sleep by reducing the blue light that resets your body clock to morning apparently
I know what it's meant to do, but the results are unbearable to me.
Just give me a dark night theme and I'll be fine.
I had it on the Mac and killed it after 5 minutes.
iTs the most stupid idea I heard of, well sounds good, looks ugly.
You can't watch pics or videos like that nore do I want to read text like that.
Great my new tv changes its color based on daytime ...
What is this supposed to be? a lab accident on LSD?
Don't tell me you like the tripping colors ...
There is no way of turning it off?
There is a way of enabling disabling with both flux and night shift. If you want less blue light, it will be yellow !;) I've been using flux for ages and love the benefit and better nights sleep I get, and because of that I can live with yellow
There is
The point of the thing is to give a better nighttime experience
What I would want is something like the invert colors does for the nighttime (without changing the color of pics or video ...)
Like a disco theme, you get what I mean...
you see, much less bright light into my eyes @ night without colors made by timothy leary ...
Right. Well, if I had it, I would like to be able to not only tweak the temperature (blue/yellow) of the effect, but to be able to turn off the effect completely if I wanted to. Outside of making music I draw a lot, with my (i)Pencil. I most often sit in dark-ish rooms. I would like to be able to trust the colours on my screen.
The point of night shift is to reduce blue light. The point of invert colours is to invert colours.
And everyone has a choice which they want to use. Wonderful ...
I guess I have to wait for oled displays > a black pixel = a turned off pixel = no light at all
They should bring out an iPad that uses a nixie display instead of a flat display panel based on pixels.
I use F.lux and love it as do the people I've recommended it to. I am convinced and concerned about the negative effects staring at these large screens is having on our health.
Although, saying that I'm not convinced that F.lux or similar is a proper solution. It just makes the experience slightly less violent on my eyes.
E Ink displays could be on to a real solution.
Related note: I just applied a matte screen protector to my mini and love the way it makes the screen look sans glare. However the feel is a bit rough on the finger tips so not sure I've found an overall improvement.
It makes absolutely no sense to me,
so in winter I am supposed to get sleepy at 4.30 pm and in summer at 9.40 pm
Wait what?
Am I a chicken that is supposed to get up when the sun is up and sleep when it's dark?
Who is the simpleton that thought of this?
As its to do with the sun and reducing blue light when the sun isn't up in the users region, it seems like a suitable config.
If you are not caring about the cycle of sunlight, then it might not be the tool for you. I suppose 'science' is the simpleton dictating how this may be of use...
Sience may have a look at what our daily cycle looks like
instead of reacting on random data > sunrise / sundown
Hint, if I am not on the device I maybe asleep
And a lot of lux into your face is actually great, because it makes you happy because you produce more serotonin than when sitting in the dark ...
You see sun up/down is much to simple...
Who sleeps 5 h or more longer in winter because it's dark outside in Berlin? rofl
Sun up down is just "random" data

It's actually very useful. And yes, in the winter you're supposed to take it slower. You can fight it but it's still not your natural circadian rhythm. I love it. It helps me sleep better.
I hate it
It's just messes with a well calibrate display
Everything is yellow, great
It's like sitting in front of granny's tv with the messed up colors
I can't believe they wasted time with this
My bet is we get a new dark layout, watch like ,with oled displays and iOS 10
Until then this non senses...
