Bluetooth & USB MIDI at the same time?

I tried the following setup yesterday and it didn't work:

ipad 1 ==> ipad2 ==> PC

where ipad 1 was attempting to drive ipad2 via Bluetooth MIDI and ipad2 was driving the PC via MIDI over a USB cable

I tried to do this with the USB MIDI already established. I couldn't get the two ipads to recognize each other using Apollo.

Anyone know if this is possible?

Comments

  • Ipad1 - no bluetooth le, but you could try midi network over wifi, (>rtpmidi< on pc), @ecamburn

  • Sorry - the little diagram wasn't clear. Those aren't the version numbers of the ipad, just arbitrary #s.

    ipad 1 is a 4th gen
    ipad 2 is an Air 2

    I think the real question is can an ipad simultaneously do MIDI over bluetooth and over a USB cable?

  • @ecamburn, yes, on the device that's connected via usb to pc, 'coremidi' needs to be active in apollo.
