Drum Perfect Pro - I purchase a pack in the store but cannot use it.

Hello, folks!

Earlier today, I purchase the Batucada pack in the Drum Perfect Pro store. Near the end of the download, a strange tiny pop-up appeared with something writen inside it - it seemed like "BR"-something, but it appeared and disappeared too fast for me to read it entirely. I thought: "well, the download must have finished and that was the way it finished", but when I looked for my new pack, it wasn't there. I stayed calm and closed and reopened DPP, but the pack wasn't there yet. I restarted my iPad: same result. I tried restoring my purchase and, for my surprise and dismay, the download was interrupted with the same little quick-vanishing pop-up. At the time, I was beginning to get a little worried. I decided to remove DPP, reboot my iPad and redownload it. Then, I tried again to restore my purchase and - this time not quite unexpetedly - I got the same pop-up that I knew by then indicated the download failed. And that's the current status: I paid for something I cannot use.

Marinus and Gilbert, is there a solution/workaround? If not, or if involves waiting for a future update, I'd like to be instructed on how I get refunded for the pack I cannot use, since I intend to invest that sum buying some brazilian loops, since I cannot use the pack I bought. Very frustrated now! Waiting for an answer.

All the best!

@theconnactic: could you check in Song view -> Load, scroll through the list of songs: are there any songs starting with prefix Ba1 (for Batucada) or BR1 (for Brazilian)?

  • I bought the batucada iap, received the message every time, including if I restore pack. However I do have a fully loaded kit called Ba1, 3 Ba1 songs, a shedload of patterns etc, so I think this message doesn't affect the purchase or download.

Thank you, I found all of them!

  • @theconnactic it might be helpful to other users if you retitled your thread to include solved.

  • Hi, I've just purchased DPP and the Brazilian pack and had the same issue. It stops at around 60% and the popup says Status, a filename which looks like BR1ZHOpLL4.m4a then OK at the bottom. (I took a video which isn't too clear so it may start BR12?)
I can't see any extra kit, none starting BR and no songs starting BR (I've got 64 songs - is that the default?)
Any ideas gratefully received. I've repeated the restore pack a few times and restarted DPP too. Is it possible I'll need to delete a corrupt downloaded file?

    Thanks

    Stewart

  • Just some more info in case it helps diagnose the issue. I deleted DPP and then reinstalled from the UK Apple Store. After starting the app I restored the purchase and it started loading again. Unfortunately it stopped at 60% again with the same message, referencing BR1ZHOpLL4.m4a
    Any ideas? Thanks

I think I've figured it out....
It probably wasn't a good idea buying the extra pack without a greater understanding of the app - maybe I should have looked at the manual! Despite the upload stopping at 60% and the message that looked like an error, I think the download completed. The files just needed 'loading' into the app. If I choose the 'Kits' tab and then Load I can see the BR1 kit. I now see that Marinus had the key word 'Load' in his post - sorry I missed that.
Hopefully, this might help someone else confused by the upload 'failure'....

  • Yes, fortunately, DPP doesn’t force you to load every kit available at one time. It makes sense that new purchases will only show in the Kits and Songs lists when loading.
