What iOS hardware do you want 2016? - I want Oval!
What iOS hardware do you want 2016? There is already a wide variety of external hardware gear on the market, that can connect to our iDevices. Is there room for any new stuff. Could anything be improved upon? Why don’t you share your wish-list with us, give us your thoughts!
What do I want? I want the Oval by Ovalsound. As one of the backers for this Kickstarter based project, I have been waiting patiently since last year for my Oval to come.
Comments
I'm proud that's coming from Spain.
Oval does look amazeballs but I'd be reluctant to spend that much cash on an instrument without trying it hands-on. I'll be looking out with a great deal of interest for your first vid. I'm sure that will tip me over the edge and make me buy one!
I want a stylish controller specifically made for the iPad. I want it to have a slanted front very much like the new Waldorf modular keyboard. The iPad should go in the middle. It should just have a soft area with a lip for the iPad to rest on. It should be big enough for any iPad. The connector needs to be replaceable for when Apple change the connector.
Controllers should be either side of the iPad area. The controllers should all be quality. It needs pads, knobs and sliders. More controllers on the left side of the keyboard with an XY pad, switches and pitch and mod wheels.
The operating system needs to be upgradable via PC and IPad.
It needs a built in Audio and Midi interface and have built in power supply.
The keybed needs to be quality and have velocity and aftertouch.
It needs to be made of metal and have wooden side pieces.
The control area needs memories for the most used iOS apps.
It needs a control area for DAW transport control.
The base unit should be 3 octaves. The larger key units need to be able to hook up more than one iPad.
It should come in a range of groovy Color schemes
I want a camera connection kit that will work on iOS 9.2 for $4 on ebay.
The one I had was working great on iOS 8 but is now non-functional.
Someone made it and did not lose money (fair assumption?) selling it for under $5cad. Apple charges $35cad +tax!
(sorry bout that. still a little upset I haven't been able to use my midi keyboard and apogee jam)
I guess I see it as more just general MIDI control, but I want to find some kind of standalone D-Beam type controller to send MIDI CC data. If anyone knows of a good one that doesn't cost a fortune right now, let me know!
A powered USB-hub with a Lightning connector that is able to charge the iDevice while using it. Still Wonder why such a product does not exist.
Looking forward to forthcomming BT-keys from Korg, CME and others.

I want the Korg Nanokontrol studio + nanokey studio to go with my beloved korg gadget !
I'm thinking about an audio interface ios-ready too, with a ton of i/o or adat, to connect all my gears. There are more and more ios daws with 24 channels to record at once...not sure what audio interface can do that though.
