Hmm, seems like a great idea but no matter how loud I play my acoustic or sing or shout even directly into the iPad mic it says 'TOO QUIET'!!
Strangely it didn't ask for permission to use the Microphone and it isn't in the list of apps in Privacy > Microphone either!
Tried deleting and re-installing - still no joy.
Anyone get this to work? Am I missing something?
Here's a super quick 'read this old poem into it' test with stand up bass and kit etc. No more fiddling. Opened in AS etc. Below the link is a screenshot from the export page etc.
EDIT: I should add for those unaware that this app adds bass and drums (either or both, your choice) to whatever it is you record. There is some choice over respective volume and complexity of each, but not so very much. I suppose a better yet test would have been to sing something and see what it came up with. Might try that next.
I don't need auto generated bass and drums, but the auto record feature could come in handy.
Actually it is quite handy for a freebie. We can upload to iCloud and the organization system will have all of the OCD folks rejoicing!
Cool dude
Really cool and unexpected.
@JohnnyGoodyear - instant Beat Poet!
Still no joy with my iPad Air 2 mic. Will update my old 4S and see if I can get it to work on that.
EDIT: working now after reboot! (Doh! should have thought of that before!)
Works ok for me. The automatic bass and drums often sound a bit "free jazz" for my taste though!
Spot on, Phil. Free jazz. LOL.
Should be perfect for making notes of those guitar licks, chord progressions and bass lines that I would normally write in TAB
Mixolyd - just done in Music Memos? I'm impressed, both with your song (and playing) and the way it put the drums and bass with it.
@PhilW Thanks very much. I did cheat a little by using an idea that I worked out a few months ago rather than some off the cuff chords! The guitar is a cheap Epi played through a little Blacktar Fly amp.
It took a good 15 min of editing to fix the mistakes in chord detection made by the app - not that I really needed to bother doing all of that as the bass rarely uses the 7ths etc.
EDIT: image attached to show the ditty "in app".
What I've noticed is that because the drum and bass parameters are global (i.e. for the whole length of the piece) the app would be best suited for doing single sections - that way you can specify things like the ride cymbal etc without it going across everything.
This is radio static from a lil pocket radio...
Didn't even use nils or funkbox; yet...
Haha. I love these. Especially how the band slowed down to a crawl as the radio static droned on
I know... I just stuck my phone in front of my amp and we had our first jam session... Wish you could do this live cause I'd be on tour tomorrow with my amps and a phone...
Tele > delay > fuzz > od > sunn...
I might keep these guys around...
