Updated Version of Korg Gadget
Acc to Korg site, updated version "coming soon"...
Comments
Fuckin' AAAAA!!! Literally can not wait!
Kinda looks like it's running on an iPhone in the top image, nice.
Tis the season it seems....
So Namm starts tomorrow .. Should we assume we'll know more details about the update in the next couple days?
directly from Korg's site:
KORG Gadget Le(music production studio DAW app) *Download will start from in March, 2016 - See more at: http://www.korg.com/us/products/controllers/nanokontrol_studio/#sthash.CpUz22Xy.dpuf
Gadget for iphone will be available in march, can't remember where I saw it, but it was somewhere on the korg website
maybe the ipad update will arrive sooner but I guess it will all be at the same time
Fond it! At the bottom of the nanoKEY page on the korg site, check the software bundle ! gadget LE available in march
Yeah - but surely there will be some new goodies in the iPad Gadget too? Not just an LE version..
I'd be over the moon with even just 1 or 2 new features at this time: a new synth Gadget or audio tracks or new fx.
Gadget LE it's available on March probably because it's tied to new hardware or something ,nothing stops the update to korg gadget (regular) to be released sooner, the one that would make the app universal for iPhone and iPad.
I suspect the updates are tied into the new nanoKEY Studio and nanoKONTROL Studio hardware. They are supposed to be Bluetooth wireless, so there may be some updates needed to the apps?
Come ooooooon full screen gadget button
Looks like a pretty good start to 2016 for Korg. Great job
Go-Go Gadget Update!!
Looks like Korg will add 2 more gadgets to the app. The following page reads that there will be more than 20 different gadgets. The app currently has 15 + the IAPs
korg-license-center.com/index.php?hl=en
The IAP's count as gadgets imo, there's 23 currently.
If you count 15 gadgets + 2 in-app-purchases + 5 gadgets from module + 1 gadget from im1, there are 23 gadgets right now, it's not really implying any new gadgets.
You guys are right. I don't have Module. So I didn't account for how many gadgets it unlocks.
I am not expecting any new gadgets or features aside from it scaling down to iphone and scaling up to ipad pro. All in all a good thing. The more hands it gets into and the more money it makes the more future features may come down the pipe but I wont get excited until I hear something like 'Kaoss pad added'.
@AudioGus If it's tied into the nanoKEY launch, doesn't that have an X/Y pad?
I am thinking more along the lines of an effects engine.
Wouldn't using something like the nanocontrol studio mean they redid the midi routing in Gadget, so you're not tied to only the currently selected track?
+1 on toggle fullscreen gadgets!
@Tarekith I hope so, but this sneaky bit of text at the bottom may mean that that will still have things locked into their ecosystem.
"The sounds and functionality of “iPad / iPhone apps” can be expanded by connecting them to a nano Studio series unit."
Haha, the only thing that's stopping me from enjoying gadget is the lack of sleep.
I've just requested a baby monitor gadget
NanoKontrol Studio has Mackie HUI so perhaps external control of mixer ?
EDIT: NanoKontrol2 had this anyway, so probably not going to read much into it now.
It says all over the Korg website that the NanoKontrol will be able to control Gadget, so I am expecting MIDI control of the mixer. Also I hope that "cycle" button means midi control over the scene loop. The "Select" buttons on each channel of the NanoKontrol make me think you still have to select a single track to control a gadget with midi.
Yes - my feeling is you're probably got this spot on...
I can't see how they can NOT give mixer control (mute/solo and level) of all channels to NanoKontrol Studio - because otherwise all those per channel faders would be pretty useless with Gadget. Also stop and play.
The question then becomes - is this just for 'native mode' for the NanoKontrol Studio or would there be more general midi access?
Similarly I can't see them giving midi access to more than one Gadget track at a time (sadly) - unless there's a way to change channel on the NanoKontrol Keys.
The controls are very similar to what is already on NanoKontrol2, and currently most do nothing in Gadget
Nothing but cross promotion to sell hardware.
They tried with the other Triton engine midi controller with "Gadget implementation" --- didn't catch on.
So, I am guessing this is a fresh run at that idea trying to bump the hardware sales to compliment the IOS biz.
Just my opinion.

Probably because it sucked Transport controls didn't work and the arpeggiated didn't sync to Gadget, so it was basically just MIDI mapping of pads and faders which you could do with any controller.
