finally!
FUDGE!
thought this revamp would include sample import, firejan do you have ifunbox or any other type app and are you able to get to the samples in the app I want to replace them with my own?
I am thinking this will get removed rather quickly without import. For free it looks like a fun way to make some grooves however so I am going to check how much is free and how much in app.
Ok this is really kind of good! Not sure about export options no AB or IAA but a little love could make this into a great app instead of a fun app.
Oh hell yes, it has a great open in feature to send your recordings out to work with! This is fun and quite good really.
but can you get at it with ifunbox, ifile, i-anything?
Where is the open in feature?
You have to make a recording then when you stop recording you get the option to play / delete or the little share arrow below that. I sent it right over to cubasis. You can go to settings to save as wave or m4a.
So you just remix other people's stuff? Or does this have value as a tool for creation?
In other words, what are the licensing terms?
Woah I'm having some fun with this. Big up props to this crew coming up with new ways to use the iPad. Well done!
I'm going to guess no. The samples are probably saved in the actual presets
Judging from the website it indeed just looks like it's a way to remix other people's music.
However...
"Their (Herrmutt Lobby's) professional line of instruments, currently under development, will be available early 2016."
Playground seems like another space on the continuum between another artist's song, remixing, and original material. It would be nice to have a version where you could insert and manipulate your own material. One can begin to ask what's the difference between something like Playground where the samples are created by someone else and their playback is within the constraints of the app, versus playing a synth where the preset is created by someone else and constrained by the parameters of the synth, versus a traditional instrument such as a guitar constrained by the numbers of strings, their length, and the resonance with the guitar body. Can we measure the artistry of a performance by how unique/appealing it sounds versus someone else using it? Is it all about the final sound experienced by the listener or is consideration given to the process of creating the sounds?
all i know is that this is an awesome and fun app
I must say it is fun and this said despite myself, because I didn't really want it to be fun, BUT, well, it is. Fun to play. To jam I suppose. Just, you know, for the fun of it. BUT, but, your point is interesting, almost philosophical, and I fancy that the only valid answer is the one that each of us alone believes to be so.
This is not a production app. These are just awesome interactive songs. I wish there was an app that lets you create your own song performance interfaces like these. Beatsurfing connected to Ableton is almost that.
Something else to wait on I guess
This is quite good. Very fun to use. Better if I clean the iPad screen, after my little girl had sticky fingers. Lol.
Ah I know what a good comparison app would be...
This is much like Thicket.
Another app I was very impressed with at the time and still am I guess just not as exciting anymore with the limitations involved.
Anyone bought any packs?
This is really a fun app.
