I've been liking Drummer for some things in Logic Pro X for awhile now. Once you get to know it, it's a great combination of computer automation and human control. Glad to have a light version of it on the iPad. Opening a GB project into Logic seems to work pretty well, though the remix plug-in isn't available (at least in 10.2.0.)
Garageband and Gadget are great, fun apps for making music on an iPad. It can be frustrating to think how easy it would be for Apple and Korg to make these apps better for a workflow involving a larger system, but I just have to take them for what they are, accept and work within the limitations and, when worth it, do the extra work involved in exporting or re-doing. I'm still pretty new to iOS music-making, so it's still fun just to learn and play around.
And then they throw Music Memos at us to boot ... Altogether, It's like songwriter crack!
Yes, forgot about that, I've used that a bit so far. Audioshare was my "sing into the phone" idea collector, but music memo is so simple that it's perfect for that. Audioshare has plenty of other uses for sure though.
Pweecisely.
So, does anybody have a good way to add breaks and endings with the drummer? I know I can shorten the clips, but that's not really what I'm after.
Are you using sections within garageband?
New to all this. So regarding the lack of effects in GarageBand - if it was your only DAW, what would be a recommended workflow to add effects and master a track (non professionally) if you have other effects apps outside of GarageBand?
Edit: scratch this - I'm gonna start a new thread
Mostly, yes.
