iPad opens Genres
Lately and mainly due to Link, we've been Jazzing out with our iPads.
Mostly done dancey industrial stuff in the past, but with apps such as Drum Perfect Pro, Drum Jam, Seline Redux and others, we've been getting our Jazz grooves on
I'm wondering how iOS apps have helped you explore other genres that you usually would not?

Well, in my tender formative years as a thrash metal head, I thought synthesizers were for sucks. I remember smashing my vinyl copy of Rush "Grace Under Pressure" because it wasn't "2112" and I couldn't take it anymore.
I now have a blue million synths on my iPad, and the current song I'm working on has like 8 synth tracks. I also have an unsmashable digital copy of "Grace Under Pressure," in case I lapse
Good post as I've been thinking about this a lot lately. I would turn your post around and say that I've incorporated more elements of EDM in my tunes since incorporating the iPad into my setup.
But, I've also enjoyed some trips into jazz and country with some of the opportunities opened up by apps like ThumbJam, Gestrument, etc. It's a wild ride. But I am really enjoying the burst of creativity.
The only vinyl I remember smashing was a Wombles record I threw at my neighbour lol.
I know Dancey music gets a bad rap from many, but so many different types, just like Rock really, or Jazz. Big terms for many differing styles within each genre.
Glad to see others are exploring the weird and wacky would of music
Hey! Chris Spedding was in the Wombles. And also produced the demo for the Sex Pistols.
That's a combo and a half!
