@thesoundtestroom - Doug, same here and I just left a reply on the STR post. I did eventually manage to get a full track rendered that included my two iSEM AudionUnit tracks but I don't know what I did that made it work. (After watching your video I went back to GB and exported the same "good" song file, but it messed up again and is missing one of the iSEM tracks).
Anyway, I'm on the hunt for a solution, as are others I hope.
That's a huge issue if AUs are not being exported!! Thanks for raising it.
P.S. Are you going to be taking a look at DrumPerfect Pro? I can't decide without a Doug style overview! Maybe GB drummer gives me what I need...
No idea what's going on. After watching this video I recorded two isem AU tracks on an existing song then select open in an export the song to audioshare both isem tracks were included in the recording, Tried a second time and everything went fine as well. Maybe merge the track so it converts to audio and then export would solve the problem.
There is one setting in Garageband that is worth checking out.
Under advanced settings enable 'Use with Music Apps'. The description says.
"Switch on to optimise Garageband performance for use with ochre music apps".
iSEM is still an 'external component' even if it's an AUi.
I'm thinking this setting has to do with memory-allocation and audio buffers as there is slight lag when playing the touch-instruments and they don't switch as fast.
As for the sharing 'bugs' missing AUi's when sharing...
I've only tried merging tracks and AUi's are present in rendered file(new project with audio-track).
I guess it's time to bombard Apples feedback pages.

Definitely some weird sh1t going on there, is it GB, iSem, or AU implementation ???
You might try to merge it as an audio track.
@Samu -- I had that setting turned on, although I may try again with it off. However, thanks to @stormywaterz for the great suggestion. On the first try GB only merged (rendered) the 2nd iSEM track (the remainder was blank audio), but I tapped the undo button, did the Merge again and this time it rendered both tracks fine and dandy. I exported the file and glad to say it has all of the audio!
I reported thie issue to Apple, and the guy that I talked with (yeah, Apple called me, and I didn't even know that was a thing...well, now I know)...anyway he was hopeful that others will report this issue as well so as to help it gain traction with the bug fixers.
I shall try MERGE see if that works, and also try the ADVANCED SETTINGS thing too
I found that with several iSEM instances, some or even all can become blank (au crashed?) -- in that case the audio unit might still play from memory but will not render to file. What worked in that case was opening each instance iSEM to make sure it is active, and then render to file. No problem exporting the audio that way.
Also, restarting GB and then exporting the audio seemed to work.
