    Sir Sampleton, very dear.

I think as with a lot of synths it was up to personal taste. I bought Sir Sampleton and really didn't get the workflow, at least not in the intuitive and comprehensive way that Samplr does things. What is it about Sir Sampleton that works for you? Simplicity?

Simply most of the sounds, you can download soundbanks from the dev's homepage, love the melancholy of the atari 2600 f.e., overall the retro feel, and playability,
    AND the first mindblowing test of the fresh FugueMachine (;
having left multichannel midi turned on ...)

    Edit
    (Whoops not synths)

  • TF 7 (Believe there is a update dropping shortly)
    Sunrizer
    Cream
    LP-5
Synth X check out this crazy UT From VJ Franz J

  • Ops Cream and LP-5 don't really fall into the synth cat. Let's add
    Chauliodus
    Gyro Synth

  • Can I add

    AirVox from Yonac

Great idea I wish it had midi out.

Guess I can skip that one. :) But yeah, we (ok, I) usually talk about Nanostudio but Eden is pretty dope all by itself.

    1. Cassini; to me, one of the most powerful synths on the app store. It's just such a mother ckufer to program.
    2. Argon
    3. Xynthesizer (not particularly deep but wtf why does it sound so good?)
    4. 76 Synth
    5. Eden (I won't ride cinebient's coat tails)

Not exactly a synth but +1 to the Sir Sampleton votes. Just an awesome little app.

That's a great SynthX demo @Jumpercollins - would be so good if this was picked up again and given AB and IAA wouldn't it! (I did write the developer many moons ago but got no response. I believe one of the other readers here knows him (or maybe someone at iPM does - can't recall), but if he's not interested in updating it, perhaps it could be farmed out to someone else to do. Some kind of profit sharing perhaps. )

Oooooo how exciting. Is there a release date mooted?

  • edited January 2016

Sorry, @ghostly606, 'multichannel' not in FugueMachine, although this will be here soon (:
The option in Sir Sampleton though lets you address/sequence multiple sounds in it, switching midi channels manually in FugueMachine or from any other sequencer.

  • Yep. Sir Sampleton is 12 part multi-channel. 3 bucks! Total champ.

Wish we could store more presets. Would be fun/on-brand to see a cassette recorder app that allowed you to transmit presets sets back and forth via audiobus. :)

Hmmmm tricky this one. The five most under-rated, must be the ones never rated, so by rating your five most under-rated, they become well.......rated I suppose :p

  • Hi @MusicInclusive yes agreed wish Synth X got some updatesy the Wayoutware Inc website link shortcut in the App Store brings back a 404 so think the guys shut up shop. I've like to see the Yonac AirVox app updated with midi out and learn as the whole idea of hand gesture control I thought was great at the time and with all the iOS advances now with AB AB remote , IAA, Link etc I'm sure there is more mileage in updating that app.

  • Synth X has been mentioned a lot does virtual midi work with it as noticed it has midi in and out with 16 channels but can get the app to show up in any sequencers etc.

  • In no particular order:

    Eden from NanoStudio
Seriously, this synth should get a lot more praise than it gets (and it does get some).
Maybe because the presets sound so much alike sometimes, but forget that. Strip it down and you see a ridiculously robust synth, with a 2 OSC mix (+2 ring +1 sync) and a sampler and all that a serious synth would take along (mixer, detuner). Great filters, envelopes, polyphony controls, bend range, X Y pads, programmable routing and some few gadgety inserts (which to be honest is cool, but it is what makes everything sound the same, so I'd just skip using them).

    SunVox
People praise the studio, but the synth is so classy by itself.

    SidTracker64
Altho a chiptune tracker the Synth in this studio is fairly potent exceeding itself in function by miles. I got some outrageously full sounds from a synth that was meant to be doing boops and beeps.

    GeoShred
It does strings ok, and that's fun and all, but one you start to tweak with the framework you can pull some major distortions there. It's not something unique, but it does give you a really quick framework for experimental lushy sounds.

    Eden again
    Really. Eden.

  • Any newer EDEN banks out there?'

Also, those who said SCHYTHE, can you tell me why again? I bought it last night. I am a little miffed on lack of presets out of box and apparent inability to import wave forms? Or am I missing that feature? I bought it and spent like 15 minutes with it based on this threads recommendations.

  • Not a synth, but, one really cool app is TRIGGLER.

I would love to see a SAMPLR / TRIGGLER marriage. It would be epic.

yeah would love a synthX update. I think one of the biggest issues I was having was the preset menu and parameter controls. They weren't the easiest/smoothest to select/adjust. And then AB and IAA would send it to the next level.
