Final Touch, too. I think I got an email about a new mastering app from them which makes me somewhat depressed cuz I use Final Touch quite a bit and I have a feeling it's gonna be abandoned.
Tempting but i already have Tonestack and i'm not even a guitar player, lol. But i like those rack FX...
I picked I up for 3 bucks, something like that over Christmas. Used it a bit, it seems like a nice tool. Bias, upon fiddling, I really like, better than amplitube and Jamup. Still not sure if I like I more than Haggis, but I'm not sure if Haggis has a long lifespan, either.
That is one of the issues with this world.
I find that running Caustic tracks through Final Touch gives them a nice boost and removes that rumored slight-sonic-inferiority. Typically just messing with the jazz-based presets a bit (i'm usually having a good deal of piano and such involved).
Anyone have both Tonestack and Bias FX and can describe the advantages/disadvantages of both?
I use Bias Amp and love it.
Well, you can import your amps from bias amp into fx.
For metal, nothing compares to Bias FX or JamUp. As far as FX. Tonestack sounds slightly better to me. It may be possible to achieve a metal sound using ToneStack, or Amplitude, or Ampkit, or THM Overloud, but it certainly isn't as easy to get it as Bias. I'd say not possible, cuz I haven't been able to do it yet.
Bias has the Tonecloud, which is great for downloading others inventions. Usually they need tweaking a bit, but it's a good starting point.
One thing I can't figure out with Bias FX is, when using the AUdiobus remote app, It will connect, but I don't get the options for preset switching and Bank selection like I do when I use JamUp pro?
Do the Bias amps sound good in FX? I only ask because when I import my amps into JamUp Pro, they lose the sparkle (probably that reverb that emulates a room?) that I get running them natively in Bias Amp.
I don't have bias amp, so couldn't say.
I don't have Bias, just Tonestack. I tried jamup free and ampkit and amplitube free, but chose the Tonestack motherload route. And I use it mainly for FX for a cheap hardware keyboard.
I could be wrong but although I do like Tonestack quite a bit, I find the UI and the sound could be a little more refined. There's just a slight lack of polish in both areas....I think. (especially the distortions)
Anyone else feel that way?
I could be a little delusional here and admittedly I don't have a lot of experience with amps and guitar effects. I like having the best available though, so this Tonestack decision I made although very happy with it at the time comes into question often in my mind.
I have only used tonestack at its most basic. I feel that way about amplitube. Haggis has been my favourite. Good solid sounds, great presets.
I used to like ToneStack, but upon revisiting it recently with Motherload 2.0 I found it sounded pretty fake. I love the licensed amp models in Amplitube, they really do a good job on those. Bias can sound good, but it's too fiddly for me.
