Very cool. I just installed the updates. In the release notes it said split screen was supported but that doesn't seem to be the case. Slide over does work as expected, though.
Split screen works but it requires another app to be able to do split screen as well. There are very few apps that can do that. The only major one being djay pro.
Oh, I see. I only tried it with the main AB app but of course it wouldn't be all that useful there anyways. I hope more apps will support split screen soon.
Split screen works fine also with looptree, TC performer, midiflow, audioshare, link to midi and midi link sync.
Also the recently released Sidecar app by @SecretBaseDesign.
Also believe split screen only works on iPad Air and above is that true. Can't seem to ever get it working on my iPad 3?
Split View only works on iPad Air 2, iPad mini 4 and iPad Pro.
Thanks Seb, still great to see AB remote works on 1 device.
Right! And Musix and honeychord as well. The more split view apps the harder to find them. Apple should add a search field to the top of the slide over bar to speed up the search.
Great! I've been waiting for this. Thank you Audiobus-team!
Congrats guys, looks great.
Nice split screen also works with Different Drummer too
Just what I've been waiting for, bought Remote right away. Dear devs, thanks a million!
Is it possible to use AB remote on several devices @the same time? dont try it yet....
Nice...
AB Remote with Animoog. And also split screen with Musix.
I really need a good midi sequencer app (eg Genome or ModStep) to go split screen now. Or even midi designer pro.
Combined with AB remote on the other half of the screen that would be amazing.
By the way, Nils is also split screen now.
The multi iPad dream is becoming ever closer
Why is it a dream? I use multiple iPads now.
It really works well. Particularly AB remote plus Musix Pro (which i really like anyway).
I dream of just having one single screen layout to properly jam with about 3 or 4 apps on. We're definitely getting closer - although not quite there.
For a while iPads have not been great at communicating for my jamming needs. With the advent of Link and AB remote extending its use, this makes how I would wish to use multiple iPads much better
There's another thread floating around about the need for more iPhone apps. I think there will be a confluence between split screen app views on iPad--and iPhone controllers. The design work has clear overlap. The trajectory of phone vs tablet purchases makes this the growth slice in iOS market.
I wish there was an alternate way to access the slide over panel without having to slide over. On loopy it often drags the menu pane with it. And I thought I could use TJ as my forefront app and use the slide over to control loopy, but when sliding over it plays the high notes of the instruments. Anyone figure out any tricks to this?
Ok I got it. There needs to be a way to set the slide over pane to appear and disappear when touching (and/or briefly holding) the Touch ID ring (for compatible devices only and no authorization required, obviously). That would be perfect!
And the old version of the mini control pane should maybe be forced to the left side as part of the AB sdk (when iPad is oriented in landscape mode with home button on right) since there are friggen pull ups, pull downs, and pull overs everywhere in iOS now. But nothing on the left side yet that I know of.
Like for example in sector, I don't even know how to access the AB mini pane anymore now that I have slide over. The slide over tab covers it up and then disappears before I can even grab it most of the time.
I agree with the mess of pull ups and pull downs and pull sideways. I routinely pull the the AB strip when I'm trying to pull out the side panel--and I also routinely select tracks in Loopy when I swipe out the side panel. Hopefully it'll get better in time because the side panel is really a cool feature.
Love having this on he same device so useful. Multi- Pull tabs can be a bit annoying but is far out weighed by the sheer greatness of this enhancement
