Ableton Link Open Jam : NJ
First step before committing to a venue: is anyone interested?
I will invest the time promoting the events, booking the space for a few hours (yes it has wifi) each month, hauling gear and necessary cables if I know I get to play some improv with cool folks. I would like some idea of whether or not a few of you are around here/interested. Have some bigger ideas, but first things first.
Northern NJ.
www.coloringpad.org if you want to check out my stuff. No recent solo stuff with iPads up yet, but lotsa music from my duo æther generator. Have been plotting intently for about a year to do this and finally found two prospective venues.

Interesting, where in northern nj? I don't necessarily know what this entails but it would be fun to meet up with some people that actually understood what I was talking about when I talk about iOS music stuff!
Edit: I just checked out your site, the music is so different from what I normally do that I'd love to be a part of it, I'm always interested in expanding my horizons. I'm a bassist primarily and don't get into many effects mainly because playing weddings doesn't call for it... But I would love to be able to explore. I'm interested and I live not far from giants stadium (metlife? Never)
One location is in Morris Township, and the other Passaic.
Was thinking this would be an open electronic jam, with Link as a primary source for clock. I happen to jam with all types of musicians and styles, and prefer to operate as signal processor. But really I just want a place to meet up with kooky electronic musicians and listen to music.
when i was young we were condemned to monotonous hippie drum circles
Ha, I was thinking about some awful hootenannies I sat through... Some good ones, too. The modern day hoots are bathed in the glow of the screens.
Great idea, OP! Wish I could participate but alas, geography.
If I could I would love to do this but Australia is very lean on meet ups like this..
Anyone for a Melbourne jam session?
Really good idea. DrumJam is going to be hugh at Link parties
I would be the out of tune patterning doppler king
Morris township- museum, MUF? I'll be over near both tonight...
Back in my day we didn't need 'lectricity to keep in time!
Would love a London one...
NJ just a bit too far!
What are you going there for? I wanna do something fun...
Day job stuff, not music related at all. I'll be in cedar knolls, but have played at MUF a few times for various things in the past.
