Takete Lite v1.3 and competition

Takete and Takete Lite v1.3 is now available and there is a competition running to win a full copy of Takete. To enter, record a performance using Takete Lite and upload it to facebook.

I have uploaded a video to demonstrate how to record a short performance. After exporting the recorded clip to the camera roll, simply upload to facebook and share the post publicly.

  • I'm working on that right now. v3.0 will be using the Takete audio engine so will be a massive improvement.

  • Looks amazing. But really can't get it flowing right now. Gotta try some more.

  • It [Takete] won't run on an ipad 4th gen, right?

I run it on an iPad 2 with some success, the 4th gen should be quite decent. Give it a try and let me know.

iPad Air 1 is the recommended minimum but that's because it's my main test device.

Ah cool, I'll try it then, I was excited about it when it debuted.

    Got it flowing:)
Just one question: how do the single sample module works(FM CMelody, Vocal loop, Xylo and others)? I can start em looping but I ain't able to access to any parameter for those. I'm sure I'm missing something somewhere.

SOLVED: you can't access editing channel screen if it's not stopped

Yep, that's how it works at the moment. I would like to allow editing whilst playing but it does add quite a few complications.

My current workaround is to copy the playing clip and then edit the copy. Then you can switch to playing the edited clip.

  • It took me a some time to understand how is it done but done it:)
    Edit>Copy>move>mixer>drag&drop

I should try to do some tutorials maybe(never done any so it is a big maybe)

  • Am assuming that video out will get perfectly clean, without the interface. Isn't it?

Yes. You can preview the output by sliding the alpha control (bottom right of the screen).

  • Hi there !
I was wondering how would you choose the winner ? Randomly or by subjectively choosing the one you find did the best performance?

Subjectively based on the most interesting and creative. So far no entries so it's wide open!

I take my losses very seriously in these online competitions so I bought the app to spare myself the pain.

  • Maybe some inspiration for those considering entering...

  • I have to say that it's almost impossible to do something interesting when Takete Lite close every 15 minutes or so ... I've recorded three jams and lost them all because the app stop and suggest me to buy the full version. Also, because I can't save into the Lite version, I've lost all my editings ...

Sad... i tried so hard to stay positive with your app since you launched it but I'm affraid I'll be giving up ... I'll delete it again from my ipad for the fifth times ....

    Cheers,

    Cheers,

Train yourself, write down your editing schedule, focus on a part and at the next reboot it will take 2 minutes or possibly less to set it up, once you have loaded all of your channels in less than 10 minutes you'll have plenty of time to record a demo.

And a little cheat from your fellow bug abuser: on granular synth, if you switch the octave slider while holding some keys, Takete will hold em down for you B)

You're right mschenkel, that's what I should do but, I know it will sound very negative but "what for " ? if I don't win a free copy of Takete, I will have spend all this time for nothing. i know I will never buy it anyway ...

I should concentrate myself in other apps I bought and never spend enought time to play with ...

I have the feeling you've gonna be the winner :)
    Cheers,

    My favourite bug!

  • I had a similar experience. Some nice video/audio in several sessions, but after 4-5 times I said to myself I'm too old for this. If I was younger and keener I would have continued and participated in the competition. No entries so far? That's surprising. Very surprising.

Just had a first play with the Lite version. Pretty awesome app I have to say. I will put it on my wish list.

  • So... I'm curious to know who is the winner of the competition ? When or where will you announce it ?

Ha ha! I was right ! Congratulations !

But, I see there are just three entries. I personally think you should give a promo code for all of them. For having myself tried making something interesting in a very short of time and gave up, they all deserve a price for the effort ...
    just sayin' ... ;)

    Congrats mschenkel.it, I like it a lot !

    @RefinedStTech
I may consider buying TAKETE, do you have an idea when the sale end ? I need a couples of days to do so.
