BM2 the most featured real DAW on iPad. You'll need to break the UI barrier though. After that it is fantastic.

Switched from mtdaw to bm2 today and am loving it...

You were right, been there the whole time...

It's one I've been holding off on AudioShare, because I mostly just record direct in Auria on the iPad. But it could make a lot of sense on the iPhone for basic recording, along with gaining all the other goodies, but it won't help with creating midi.

AudioShare is indispensable. It is the core of my iOS music making.

  • I may revisit BM2 now that I have a 64GB iPhone. Several of the DAW options just weren't feasible for me before on a 16GB device - too many other essential apps I carry for non-music purposes to lug around a full-feature music suite.

BM2 was interesting on iPhone, but I HATED the UI and particularly the file system. I have also tried Music Studio, which does a little bit of everything, but nothing particularly well. (MIDI note editing is a pain on the small screen).

If we are truly getting Gadget on iPhone, that may be a game-changer, though it still lacks audio tracks. Caustic has the same problem and is actually pretty usable on iPhone.

Truth... Indispensable for what it does; instantly normalize and trim and post my crappy sounds to sc in like 13 seconds...

    Big up AudioShare...

  • Picked up AudioShare, it's a start, I can record my ideas. May end up with SunVox, as well. The price is good, and it seems pretty cool, and being able to record in AudioShare then send to SunVox seems like an interesting workflow.

AudioShare is great at managing sampels and folders and transferring them to and from almost every app.

If you do try SunVox, go and watch the Youtube videos by Solar Lune. Those really got me starting to understand how to work with it. And don't hesitate to ask questions. There are a few on the forum here who can help.

Is a good in depth vid

  • I record into Audioshare more than any of the DAW apps. Of course the disadvantage is you don't have multiple audio tracks.

Just connect the 'Input' to another sampler-track you can have as many tracks as you have samplers :)

Audioshare dev is working on some kind of mixer app that will double as an AU host. Can also take MIDI commands to set levels or some other crazy thing. I'll wait for that.

AUM (The name of the app) will be an insta-buy as everything else Jonathan puts out :)

Since there is not much info out there is suspect it will be possible to assign files from AudioShare to AUM mixer-channels for processing, this would (with a little file-selecting) make it possible to record/process multiple takes.

Hopefully it will not take too long until it's released.
