iOXAudio for El Capitan

Hey everyone,

I made a little traybar utility for OS X which exposes the Inter-Device-Audio feature introduced with El Capitan and iOS 9. It's a built-in way to enable Audio via USB Lightning. Unfortunately up to now this has been hidden deep inside the Audio-MIDI-Setup, so I decided to bring it more upfront with this little utility.

You can grab the .app from:
https://github.com/sieren/ioxaudio/releases/tag/1.0
or read a little more about it here:
https://github.com/sieren/ioxaudio

Made the whole thing open-source as well. (Bare with me, it's just an after-work evening-hack ;-))
(Plus I guess most of you, just like me, revert to the superior Studiomux/MusicIO for more serious ios-desktop-audio work)

Cheers,
Matt

  • Very nice. Thanks saves me from scripting something myself with Automator and Apple Script.

  • Absolutely awesome. Thank you!

  • Thanks man! Totally appreciate it.
You know what bugs me about Apple's implementation?

If the setting is OFF, iPhone / iPad doesn't appear as an unavailable Audio input in your daw, so you need to go to settings every time you connect the phone.

  • I totally agree. I hope they do this right in OSX 10.12 .. there's loads of things to be improved here.

  • But hey it works it just works. I love it that they did open up to allow this.
