ChordUp gets another update

edited February 2016 in General App Discussion

This app is turning into a really solid midi controller, with another way to play in this update, and no need to hold the chord section to play.

Worth checking out:

  • Bought this solely as a smidgeon (technical term) of support for a dev who seems to be working on it. Look forward to giving it a run for my money (which is rightly his now).

  • soon as that midi in appears I'm on it

  • I've been enjoying it actually. Very nice in what it does. Very playable. Has a simple string interface choice (amongst others) which when paired with the Cinema Piano in Module sounds ferociously good (in a very gentle way). Nice work dev Dimitry.

  • I really like the updates. I will be using the app more. Lots more.

  • Does ChordUp support Bluetooth MIDI?

  • Just wish it could 'remember' the chord set for each of the notes instead of defaulting to the default chord every time a note is selected :(

This would make it a lot more playable, just preset the chords for a song and play away quickly changing the chords without fear of selecting the 'wrong' chord.

  • I look at an app like Navichord and the progress the latest update has made and I must remain confident that further development will happen with ChordUp and, if it does, it will also be a great addition. As it is, I am already playing something stuff I'm not playing elsewhere and that makes it worth my 2.99.

  • I hear that the "remembering the chord set" issue is under consideration.

    Great news :)

  • I wish there were more pads, strings whatever in each of the controller modes and maybe allow us to change the size of the pads. There's a good bit of blank screen space which could be put to better use.

Also more importantly I wish the pads, strings etc were color coded to know which note is the root, third, fifth and 7th in each chord. When you switch between triads like major or minor chords to any type of 7th it moves the notes around on the pads so it's not easy to target specific notes. Hopefully that one makes sense.

  • New version of ChordUp is available. It now has the chord locking feature that allows to fix one chord type for a chord button. Here is a short demo:

Thanks - the app is infinitely more playable (and useful) now. It's a great controller.

  • The chord-lock feature makes this app a joy to use and knowing that 'ui-rotation' is planned makes me happy being left-handed and all...

I find it awkward to strum and play with the right hand and select chords with the left, guess that's one of the reasons I never got along with Guitars since most of them are designed for right-handed people and leftie versions cost a lot more...

  • Just bought this and I like it a lot. Great job. Looking forward to Clawtar.
