WubSynth demo and thoughts on improvements – haQ attaQ 120
WubSynth is a wobble synth meaning it was made to go wub wub wub! This is also why it caught my attention because I love that stuff.

In this episode of haQ attaQ I am demoing the synth. I am also openly reaching out to the developer Paul Betowski aka DesignByPaul, giving him my thoughts on how to improve the formula that makes WubSynth and how to make it into a true Wobble-beast.

Believe me, I already love what Paul has done with WubSynth, but if it got some more coding love it could become a really powerful wub-step instrument.

As of now, the synth also lacks IAA, Audiobus and MIDI support. Something I really hope will be added in the future.

  • @jakoB_haQ excellent video and I hope the developer agrees about implementing your suggestions.

  • If this and RS08 had AB I would buy them instantly. Good input @jakoB_haQ

  • A good sign is that the Devs SynthDrum app is on the Bus :)

The developer stated on his FB Page that he will start working on RS-08 v 1.1 to implement AB and/or IAA, after feedback from several users. Hopefully he'll do the same for WubSynth.

He does have AB on his app E-Theremin MKII, so he's certainly knowledgeable on how to implement.

Cool - I bought RS-08 in anticipation. Time for some some Wubs too.

  • I'm also hoping for an update for Dubstep SX with AB. There is something about DesignByPaul apps that are quite fun, just wished they would take them a bit further :)

  • Thank You again @jakoB_haQ

This is yet another Great Thing I've bought because of you - another was the UCA202 interface which coincidentally I'll be using to record the output of the WubSynth until we're blessed with 'bus / IAA

PS- I thought every one of your suggestions for this app were 100% on point so thanks again for making the iOS world a better place to finger surfaces in. x!

  • I bought the RS-08 in anticipation of AB/IAA as well. I'd love to see the developer join this group to get some feedback regarding his apps. As Jakob mentioned, there are just some UI things on the RS-08 that I think could use some minor tweaking in order to make it great.

  • Glad you all liked the video! Let's hope that the Dev keeps developing this gem! =D

  • I love how it automatically saves a preset for you. It's such a small thing, but it's freakin awesome!

  • Just picked WubSynth up on sale. It is AB/IAA now and the latest update includes:

    5 parameter chorus control
High and low pass control of distortion
    Low pass control of bit-crusher
LFO Key a new intuitive way to control wub speed via the keyboard
File management. See all your patches in a grid view (hold to rename patch)

  • Grabbed Synth Automata too. No AB but I'm a sucker for generative apps and, more importantly, it's made in Cornwall.

  • It looks like the developer implemented several of the suggestions @jakoB_haQ gave him in the video. It'd still be very nice to add MIDI input and Link support.
